Good Morning everyone and hopefully a little less damp today in north Kent at least, and there is even a watery sunshine at the moment, but no rain forecast thank goodness.
Quiet day for me after my busy day yesterday, although I will probably have a stroll around the park before coming home later this morning
Then I shall be doing very little after I have whizzed round with the hoover. Its a feet up and a knitting afternoon I dug out a pattern to make some little baskets for my DGGD's eggs for Easter, and there is also a pattern for some ducks.
So m day is planned out.
I heard from my sis-in-laws daughter dawn that her Mums (Vals) morphine meds have been sorted and she's had her stitches out and feels a lot more comfortable so I will ring Val later and hopefully hear it from her as well.
happy birthday to those celebrating and hugs for the sad and lonely.
Spring is on its way and the daffs are out in my garden which is a nice cheery sight at least
Whatever you are doing have a good one

Morning everyone
Storm Dudley seems to have arrived here early - I too hate the wind. I will still walk down to mam and dads later to have a look at Borrowbox with him - I picked up his library card yesterday.
Finished Chloe last night - has anyone else watched it ? It was a bit strange but I enjoyed it.
Gers - well done booking your flights - it's good to have something to look forward to. I was wondering how you still had wifi - it's a good job you have 2 routers.
Orkney Star - I'm doing Wordle every day too - yesterday's was difficult - it took me 6 attempts. The first day I did it it only took me 2 attempts, so I've been hooked ever since - must have been a fluke cos now it's usually 4 or 5.
TA - enjoy your lunch out
Well I need to check my bank this morning and then I'll get dressed and blow down the hill
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care in the wind x15 -
Morning all, dry but windy, not too cold so I've switched the heating off early. I haven't posted for a few days due to having DGS (8),his DM was working. Thoroughly enjoyed his company but was shattered last night. On Monday we went to the museum & aquarium in town on the bus, which we both enjoyed- the Egyptology section has been improved and is great. In the evening our friends from Spain made it out but the planned drink turned into a meal out at the local Italian when the pub was shut. It was lovely to catch up with them after 2 1/2 years.Yesterday DS1 was going to the retail park so we hitched a lift to replenish DGs marker pens, and in the afternoon up to the park to play football and have an ice cream in the cafeHad a quick catch up last night but I probably missed some things, lovely quilt Snoozer.Gers, great to have something to look forward too.Csarina- please don't stop posting, they probably have an automatic thing to stop certain words which doesn't take into account the sense of the post if you see what I mean, annoying though it isGlad the three of you can meet up TA, bet a lot of talking ensuesI shall be using the steak we didnt have on for tea on Monday tonight, along with potato gratin. DH is picking up a meat pack I ordered from the butchers, hope he doesn't forget.Stay safe everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hello all, just a quick pop in this morning as Dad will be arriving in a minute. He's having his car MOT'd this morning so Mr Fix It will bring him back here when he drops off his car. It's far too cold for him to stand around in a draughty garage for a couple of hours and he can't walk home either, it's too far, and as for a taxi he would rather crawl than pay for one 😁. So he will stay for some food and he needs some bills sorting too. Hope everyone is ok.
Take care all, stay safe if you have the storm.

Morning all
Bright and sunny here for the moment meant to get worse later I think, will get the dogs out this morning before the rain comes in. Day off for me today as they asked me to swap my Friday, I dont mind once in a while but wont do it often.
Yesterday at work the lights in the kitchen went off at 10, it was very dark, the fridges ect were still on but slowly other things started to go off, by lunch time I had no power at all, one of the workmen there had cut through a cable with a digger, I did mainly sandwiches for peoples lunch and somehow we managed, but the clients were not sent home which would have been the sensible option so it was very hard to keep them entertained and safe, the toilets were pitch black and we were having to use torches to use the loothey let us go at 3.45 yesterday 45 minutes early as even the computors had died by then. We had to move all the stock from my freezers up to the other cafe so it didnt ruin, so I am quite glad I am off today as they will have to shift it all back if the power is back on, I did over 14k steps yesterday and was shattered by the time I got in.
I have got a wash on and will put it on the airer once its done, I need to have a quick tidy through and then get the dogs out, this afternoon I am going to have a nice bath then watch a film.
Have good days all xxx13 -

I was wondering how you still had wifi - it's a good job you have 2 routers. My BT broadband is only giving a download of 2mpbs which is rubbish for browsing. There's no fibre here, I'm connected to the exchange, only two houses within about a mile so there's no chance of any upgrade anytime soon. Years ago I got an EE 4G router which is brilliant, it plugs straight into any electrical socket (don't need a phone line) and is lightning fast. I only use the BT one for the automation of lights, blinds, plugs and Alexa, so that's a very small PITA right now. There'll be a slightly larger PITA when I have to reconnect things to a new router. In terms of life's problems it's not high up on the scale so I shan't be too cross.Coxy - I'm glad you enjoyed Death on the Nile, yes, it's a big barmy but so was the original story. Loved the Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders double act and was really surprised at Russell Brand. I'm keeping my eyes on cinema listings for my next visit.Rosy - good to hear that you caught up with your friends, all this lockdown has made friendships even more important.I've replaced a few items of clothing back into the large set of drawers and have left other stuff out to contemplate over a little more. I seem to wear only a small selection of what I own, now that I no longer work all those clothes are not needed any more.

Warmer here this morning.
Booked afternoon tea at a vintage tea room for tomorrow - Birthday voucher which I need to use.
Finished 3 more bunnies yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all. It was windy overnight, it's still windy this morning with grey skies but not raining (yet). And Storms Dudley & Eunice still to come. Aargh, it's beginning to feel like Groundhog Day.
Groceries arrived yesterday, all present and correct, so no need for any more shopping for a while. Stir fry tea enjoyed last night. There was a little bit of chicken left so that will go in a wrap with some salad for lunch today. Tonight it's fishcake with peas and I have some LO cooked spuds to slice and fry up instead of making chips.
I've done a quick dust and vac downstairs this morning and will do upstairs this afternoon. Then it will be feet up time.Scarlet - well done on cleaning the china. I used to have a dresser before the kitchen was updated and, much as I loved my china collection, hated the cleaning bit. It seemed to take forever.
Gers - ooo, Australia! Something to look forward to.
Nels - Mum phoned me yesterday (very unusual) to tell me her phone wasn’t ringing out……made me laugh anyway. It made me laugh too!
TA - don’t worry about the willpower (or lack of it). F&C is bound to win out every time! Don’t get blown away today, we need you back on here.
Coxy - I think all the Poirot stories, be it cinema or TV, are hammy but I still like them. Glad you enjoyed the film.
OrkneyStar - Good luck with logging all your spends, it could be a real eye-opener! It was when I did it but it’s a worthwhile exercise and makes you a lot more conscious of where your money is going.
Ruby - Oh dear, sounds like your day at work yesterday was truly awful, no wonder you were shattered when you got home. - good that you’re on day off today. Enjoy.
Batten down the hatches and stay safe everyone. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.13
