Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air feels warmer than yesterday - rain forecast again today though.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was a "use up" of what was LO's in the fridge, so a chicken and mushroom pie, LO pasta, some potatoes, chicken, which I made into chicken and mushroom in a creamy mustard sauce, veg, so everyone had something different but no waste. Tonight will be sausages, veg and gravy.
Working at the other office today, and it's my half day - so still lots to do though.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. We have use up meals, in fact we will tonight, eating different things. As you say, it saves waste.Yesterday turned into a nice, if cold, day, I got some towels nearly dry in the wind.I took all the china out of the dresser yesterday, wiped the shelves down and washed the china, so that was a much needed job done.A few years ago I made "pockets" of cheap non woven cleaning cloths for putting plates etc in to stop them getting chipped when taking things in and out. ( there's a lot of it)I sewed together 4 cloths cut to various sizes which hold 3 plates/saucers, but I need some more for small bowls and cups so I'll have a look on the internet for a large pack of thin cloths. The china is not very valuable, but I like it and have collected it, so I may as well look after it.Not much going on today, the forecast is pretty bad though. DH is taking Dgd for her swimming lesson after school, I'll pop out this morning for one or two things, and that's it.Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.18

Morning folks and thanks for starting us off nmlc.Still no BT broadband here, the Openreach engineer was really frustrated as the line was fine and I only needed a new router, something they don't carry. That meant me having to phone BT to order one. Luckily I have an EE 4G router too so am not cut off.Later on my day got much more exciting as I booked my flights to Australia. 🎉🎉 Three and a bit weeks in Queensland starting late August. Number one nephew has also booked flights for him and his brood. All of a sudden this idea has become real. Even though I'm a tad reluctant I'm still excited by it. 😀The high winds have started already, the night was calm and the forecast 'promised' a quiet morning until the storm arrived, well here it is already. I don't need to go out, thank goodness and I can find things to do inside, if I really want.Keep safe folks, the next few days could be really rough. Happy Wednesday to all.19

Morning
Still raining. Need to call Noah at this rate
Plans for today are much as usual, calls and some kitchen clearing. Last night I had to do a few online courses for my volunteer role. Not sure how manual handling helps me in my phone based role but hey if I ever need to pick up a heavy mobile phone I will try to bend my knees!
Gers your deep clean sounded fantastic. There is so much dust behind my bed its shocking but there is no way I could move the bed or use the hoover so it’s a good idea.
Chilli wraps last night. Got the bag out of the freezer of course and when defrosted I realised I was obviously planning on a toddler portion diet so bulked it out with some extra beans. To add insult to injury my wraps had a blue hue so had to be binned. To be fair I had pushed the use by date quite a lot. Tonight (no toddler portions allowed) is a ham and mushroom pasta with a garlic bread baguette.
Mum phoned me yesterday (very unusual) to tell me her phone wasn’t ringing out……made me laugh anyway
Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The wind has been howling round us all night and if its to get worse then I think we can expect storm damage. I keep saying it but I hate the wind.
I caught up on yesterday's thread last night and SNOOZER what a beautiful quilt. And what a debacle with the Mods removing CSARINA'S post just because of an unfortunate name.
I had a lovely meet up with my DF yesterday, as always. It was very quiet but maybe thanks to the nasty weather. Sadly I chose from the naughty menu and was back with fish and chips again! I seriously lack willpower. Afterwards we went to B**ts to pick up my meds and lo and behold they included the leg tablets that the sackless pharmacist up here couldn't obtain anywhere! So it was a high 5 for B**ts!
Today is bus trip day and what a day for it! The bus will be swaying all over the road. Thankfully it's not a double decker which would be worse! I think more time will probably be spent wining 'n dining rather than wandering about in this weather. All 3 of us today, it's the first time we have been at full strength since before Christmas!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed ups. GERS ooh great excitement and something lovely to look forward to. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"19 -
Nelski - I bought these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/GreatIdeas%C2%99-FURNITURE-SLIDERS-Original-Medipaq/dp/B002SAJRGS/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1ZB6CJYC6W6ZK&keywords=furniture+sliders&qid=1644997594&sprefix=Furniture+sliders%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-5 which really helped the TV engineer and the cleaners to move the heavy furniture. Perhaps, with these in place, your cleaner can get under the bed. That was the very worse area in the bedroom so I'm really chuffed with the clean, well worth it for me.14 -
Good morning all and thanks for the thread nmlc – enjoy your afternoon off.
We went to see Death on the Nile last night – a bit hammy but we enjoyed it. Next must see is The Duke which I think is out next week.
The car passed the MOT with a couple of advisories. Not sure what will happen next year when we have to dob it back in or pay the balloon payment. Thinking we will pay the balloon and then trade it for a car we actually want/like. This was a ‘oh heck the car has finally given up the ghost, what can we get quickly’ kind of purchase.
Dinner was steak, chips, portobello mushroom and roasted vine tomatoes mmmmmm Tonight there’s just DH and I and we will have sweet chilli chicken with a little rice and a lot of veg.
Enjoy your trip out TA – don’t get blown away
Gers – what a palavar with the router – you’d think they’d carry a few on the van. Exciting about your travel plans 😊
Csarina – what are you up to today?
Has anyone seen TTCB lately?
Florence – those quesadillas sound lovely
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning All
Windy already but not raining yet so that's a bonus. Washing from yesterday nearly dry, I put it on the airer by the stove when I went to bed, saves using the TD. I'll put a load on once I've had a shower.
Working from home today thank goodness, the storm is meant to be really bad here at the time I would be driving home. Like you TA, I hate the wind. Handy to be WFH today as the heating engineer is coming at 10.30 to see about the leaky radiator in the hall. I would have left him a key but better if I'm here.
Beautiful quilt snoozer.
Exciting times Gers with your travel plans, boo to BT, hurrah to the cleaners.
Right, better get going, stay safe and take care. XX17 -

Morning All,
Hugs to all who need them, and hope all of you with household issues (broadband, radiators etc) get them sorted sooner rather than later. I have started my day by doing Wordle and Nerdle, and some Duolingo lessons (German), and my plan is to go to Lidl in a wee while - this will be my first Feb shop (we run middle of month to middle of next month) and my GC aim is to log EVERY spend this month, to help assess realistic budget going forward. This won't be a big shop, but we tend to do a couple of big shops and then some smaller ones through the month. DH and DS back to work/school, so a quieter house this morning. Dinner last night was smoked sausage and sweetcorn pasta, surprisingly yummy, and today is baked tatties with cheese and beans (tuna for DH), and a bit of salad. Wishing you all a productive/relaxing/good (delete as needed) day.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Morning everyone the wind has started we have a amber warning for the next couple of days I won’t be going anywhere but dreading it I’m another that hates the wind it does so much damage.Gers how exciting snoozer your quilt is beautiful what a talented lady Csarina please come back I love ready what everyone is up to even if it’s nothing much I put a load of drivel on here sometimes but the way I work some days I don’t see anyone and its somewhere you can have a moan if you want and just get things down and off your chest .yesterday afternoon it was chilly with bright sunshine and me and my little dog went and had a good couple of hours walk I never passed another soul but enjoyed it I could do with some sun on my face when I look in the mirror I’m like a ghost I also noticed when I looked in how many grey hairs that’s the job for this afternoon might look more human .have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14
