Help with gas bill

Ah, thanks @QrizB - I've never encountered an imperial meter and didn't know they were measured in hundreds of feet - that explains the multiplication factor of 2 decimal places that I wasn't getting.  I thought that probably it was me that was misunderstanding, as no one else picked up on it.  The more I thought about it, the more I was tripping myself up. 

That makes total sense now, thanks for the explanation.  Every day is a school day.  Apologies to @leanne12344321 for the slight derailment.

That’s ok, I’m really grateful for all the help this evening.  First post on here and so much support 😊 I’ll be on the case with them and will let you all know the outcome.

As @QrizB has flagged up, it looks like your old Imperial meter was changed to a metric one some time in 2016.  Might be worth spelling this out to them if you still get boilerplate responses. Best to phone.

Just wanted to update everyone and thank you all for your help. We had a amended bill today after waiting for their checks on the meter. It is now confirmed as metric and our bill has been reduced immensely! Thanks again

 How long have you lived there? Did they have to recalculate 6 years, Was the previous owner/renter robbed as well?
