It isn't ALL transactions. Their list of exclusions is quite long, though most everyday purchases do attract the cashbackemmajones1976 said:cymruchris said:You might be a lump of cheddar short of a picnic
(Yes it's chase bank - and to me - they're not up to much even though everyone seems to be raving about them)
Aye the 1% cashback on all transactions for a year is utter rubbish isnt it butty

Natwest and RBS Reward pay 1% on supermarket spend. Only 0.25% on other purchases. No fixed expiry date, but also no guarantee they won't pull it at relatively short notice. Both cards still available to new applicants (and some nice benefits on the Reward current account, plus a 3.04% Regular Saver which takes £50 a month - way better than the Round-up gimmick at Chase)emmajones1976 said:Out of interest what other card offers 1% back?
Some people are still lucky enough to have loyalty cashback credit cards which are no longer available to new applicants. I have one from Barclaycard, for instance, and Halifax sometimes do promo cashback on their Clarity card.

Thanks RG2015, but, but, not available in my country. Obviously must be some kind of foreign cheese, edam or mozzarella maybe. I prefer sage derby or lancashire. At least you joined the joke.0

For example, I am regularly buying discounted large amount shopping vouchers for Currys, Boots, Morrisons, John Lewis, Waitrose, B&Q etc etc at one of the employee discount sites provided by several large UK employers. Chase excludes cashback for all such purchases. My other cards don't.
For the time being, unless I know for certain that Chase don't pay cashback, I do most of my spending on a Curve card which uses the Chase card by default. As the Chase app shows you instantly whether you got cashback or not, it's then easy to move my purchase to a card which does pay.1 -
Best before end of March though....RG2015 said:A nibble of Barclays Blue is very Rewarding.0 -

To be pedantic, Chase itself isn't new, it's been a major player in the US for donkey's years. But it's only very recently that it decided to start operating in the UK.penners324 said:
