Going to attempt NS this week before we go on holiday on Saturday for a week. I will need a small food shop and fuel but money is in various accounts for those.
Pooped to see my parents yesterday. My Dad gave me some holiday spend money 100 euros. He did the same when I went for my first girly holiday to Benidorm in 1991! 🤣 Bless him - love him!

I opened one of those Barclays 5.12% savings account last night. I believe the rate only applies to the first 5k but that's ok as that will be the maximum I pay in there. Transferred £2850 into it on opening and will dribble bits over as and when I can afford to as priority goes to OPing the mortgage to the max 10% and also the CC and loan but it's a start to thinking more seriously about savings.Mortgage balance as of 21.7.21 - £75,766. Bought my first ever PB's! We do actually have a PB syndicate at work but we have never won very much at all. I will just get the minimum each month until I have paid off my priorities.

@savingholmes At 46 (Dad is 83 next week), he still looks after us as if we were teenagers still at home. Only, it's actually our turn to look after him now!
Lots to do before we go away on Saturday...
Need to do a couple of loads of washing, vacuum, got an appointment tonight, take the dog to kennels and pack!
Tonight I will cook the last of the chicken legs left over from the BBQ. We have eaten a lot from the freezer to try to use up some older bits and we had to condense two freezers to one.Mortgage balance as of 21.7.21 - £75,766. Just got back from our week away to Tenerife. Weather was fab - in the high 20's everyday. Did absolutely nothing except eat, drink and sunbathe!! 😂 Just what we needed.
Got a yearly holiday insurance this time round as we will be doing three trips in a year. Saved around £50 so that was good.
Took out a Starling account and debit card to use on holidays only. We transferred £300 into it but didn't end up using it as had lots of Euros too. I will keep the £300 in the starling account for now as DH is off to Germany next year for an army reunion so he has some spending money right there.
Just put my first load of washing on - it's the first thing I do when I get in from my holiday! Will pop it on the airer and in the airing cupboard tonight. I'm hoping it's warm enough here tomorrow (16 degrees with sunny spells) to put a couple of loads outside.Mortgage balance as of 21.7.21 - £75,766. It was great thanks @savingholmes
We were invited out to a friends for Sunday roast yesterday which was nice after getting back form holiday on Saturday evening. It was nice to catch up with them.
Have just done a T3sco.com food order to come tomorrow as we have not a lot in!
I have an appointment tonight, need to return an item to N3xt, drop something off to the Post Office and walk the dog as DH is out but will get a takeaway so I don't have to cook and will save me time too.

Mortgage interest has been applied today - £56.67 fir the month. Back in February of this year it was approx. £80 a month so it has come down a considerable amount thanks to op'ing.
I have not spent much money since we returned from holiday except for a food shop. I still have half a tank of fuel. It's payday on Tuesday so I have done well this month.
It's my Dad's birthday tomorrow so we will pop to see him. It's mum's birthday in two weeks so having a party next weekend for them both.
The sale of the btl is progressing nicely. I'm hoping the sale will go through by the end of November which means we can get our mortgage paid off by the end of this year!
The weather was good here in Cambs today. I managed to get two loads of washing on the line and dried and also managed to read out in the garden for a couple of hours.Mortgage balance as of 21.7.21 - £75,766.
