    Just realised I need to get dog food this month, he needs his yearly jabs and he also needs wormer and flea tablets - £170!

    The log burner needs a sweep and service ready for the winter - Minimum of £50 unless it needs anything replacing or repairing.

    I accidently broke my mum's garden parasol when I was over there at the weekend.  It was very old and I feel bad so I have ordered he another one off the internet.

    It's all the little things that crop up or I forget to budget for that all add up to a lot!  I was toying with the idea of getting an air fryer this month as I have heard they are cheap to run but that will have to wait until next month now!

    I am also awaiting a refund from the pet insurance policy that I cancelled. This is going straight to the cc for our spends from when we were away last week.

    I need to make a note to read my gas and electric meters tomorrow as it's the 1st of the month.

    I would like to do a car boot in September but I'm not sure I have enough stuff.  Will have a good look and sort this weekend and make a decision.

    Could you share a car boot stall with someone else so there's less pressure? 

    I can't imagine a world where I don't have enough stuff to car boot - actually selling at one is a different matter though.

    The monthly mortgage payment went in today so the balance now stands at £53,000.29. I think that 29p is going to annoy me - may have to make a small op! 😂

    I do miss being able to see my 'live' balance. My mortgage via C00p doesn't have an app which I find disgusting but I didn't know until the last part of the process.

    @savingholmes my dh is a mortgage advisor. Whenever he is re-doing our mortgage, I always makes sure he goes with a lender where I can see the mortgage on an app/online banking!

    Meter readings were taken and submitted yesterday.  Hopefully I will receive a statement today. 

    I have a second fridge freezer in the garage which I will switch off at the end of this month before the increase.

  • My DH has kindly decided to throw and end of summer bbq for our neighbours! Luckily he asked everyone to bring a bottle and I'm sure most will bring more than just a bottle but I have had to do an online shop for food, condiments, paper plates, etc which has come in at approx. £100.

    I guess that's my weekend sorted then...

    EON statement is in for the month of September. 

    Gas £20.86.
    Electricity £66.42.

    Considering I am not on a fix, I don't think these figures are too high. As a household, DH and I do try hard to save energy. There are lots of little things we do to keep the usage down. Only a couple of days ago, we changed the timer for the boiler so the hot water only comes on once a day for half an hour instead of twice a day. We will see at the end of September if it makes much of a difference to the gas usage.

    What a day! Just finished and sat down. The neighbors have been over for a bbq today - 22 of them! It was hard work and there was far too much food. I sent some home with our guests, froze some meat that didn't get cooked, filled the second freezer up with bread rolls and put leftovers in the fridge for the next two days.

    Everything in the second freezer needs to be gone by the end of September as I am turning that ff off before the energy price increase.

    I was supposed to have a food delivery on Tuesday evening this week but have just canceled it as we have so much food I don't need another shop! I will pop to the local shop if I need anything mid-week and hopefully save a small fortune too.
