No @badmemory. I can't remember the exact interest rate right now but I worked out that if I didn't pay my mortgage off in full (already would have paid the 10% allowance for the year) and paid the loan off instead, the interest rate on the mortgage until I could pay it off in full would be more than the interest I'm paying in the loan...if that makes sense! 😂

total sense - just checking as it would normally be the other way round.  I'd hate for you to give THEM a penny more than you had to.

I canceled the pet insurance last week. It had reached £140 per month! 😱 What we have paid in premiums over the last 6 years, we have received back in claims (we had one very large claim just under 6k). What started at £40 per month is now £140. I am going to put the money away in an account and throw in another 1k to start me off. I will probably regret ever canceling the policy but never mind. I am due a month refund from them so we will use that money for our two night city break this week.

Also, my water company have read the meter and reduced my DD which is fab as DH has been watering the garden a lot more this summer. That's two years on the trot that the water company have reduced the DD. Probably something to do with DS and his GF moving out!

I have been for a walk this morning, called the bank with a query, had breakfast and just sitting in the garden enjoying the peace in the sunshine. I have some chores to do later and need to pack for tomorrow and also pop out to return a couple of items.

It's always nice when the bills come down.

I halved my pet insurance this year - & increased my excess. I wasn't quite ready to pull the plug completely but resented the cost of the pet. Now it feels more manageable.

DH decided to make another op today to the mort of £999. Balance now stands at £55,448.08.

I have another £1500 in a spare account I can op but Natwest takes a few days to process op's and gets it's knickers in a twist if you do too many I the space of 24-48 hours so will have a look at the mort account tomorrow.

Been in Lincoln for the last 36 hours. Lots of walking (Lincoln has some extremely steep streets up to the Cathedral and castle), sight seeing and eating but trying to enjoy ourselves on a budget for our 26th wedding anniversary.
