Economy 7 smart meter timing

The latest is: my ALCS timing has been corrected! The storage heater circuit is switched on at 12.30 am, which is the same time that my cheap rate starts.
Interestingly Octopus have replied to me by repeating that 'Your ALCs are, and always have been, set to switch at 12:30. All of your charges are therefore accurate to this, and as I have advised there is a tolerance on Economy 7 meters of 70 minutes for when the timeswitch clicks over.' Without any mention of the time correction: perhaps because this would be an admission of preventable inaccuracy.
 I don't think I have the energy (no pun intended!) to fight for a retrospective bill correction.
 I have a suspicion that this is a large scale scam, I find it interesting that energy rates are shown to 2 decimal points which seems like it is very accurate, but with a tolerance of 70 minutes of the switching it makes a mockery of such apparent accuracy. With a few thousand customers it soon adds up to quite a lot of money.
 I furthermore suspect that the 70 minute tolerance was introduced to allow for older equipment to switch, not the marvellous new digital versions.
At least I am being charged at the right times and rates now.
It seems expensive already: and that's before the predicted price rises!

Same issue for me.

Was using EDF before switching to Octopus in October.

EDF off peak was 22:30 to 00:30 and 02:30 to 07:30
Octopus off peak is 00:30 to 07:30.

Octopus haven't updated the ALCS timing/schedule on the meter, so now ALCS is switched on for two hours (from 22:30) while Octopus are charging peak rate...
