I too have been told by bank that there is nothing that can be done because it is outside of their 500+ days... but surely these are unprecedented times with events being cancelled due to covid restrictions, something which is beyond any normal promoter's control... the govt imposed restrictions impacted on events being able to take place.... tickets would not ordinarily be available 18months in advance for such a situation to occur...and so Banks should/could apply leniency or good will for their customers, just as Paypal are offering to do.
It's not the banks. It Visa's & Mastrcard's card regulations. Which are over & above your legal rights. Yes we have had 2 exceptional years that have messed a lot up.

So any refund would come out of banks pockets. Which many would say why should they, as Covid was not of their making.

Perhaps you should complain to your local MP and see if they can shake the tree at Government level to compensate people.

So it appears Simple Ticketing Ltd (the company who the contractual agreement is with on ticket purchase T&Cs) is still an active company according to Companies House, whilst a search with the Insolvency Service has no record for them having appointed an administrator....... this really starts to stink of a huge scam...

Can't claim from credit card under Section 75 because they used PayPal as a 3rd party payment intermediary, and can't claim through Chargeback mechanism as beyond 120 day limit from original purchase (180 days for Paypal), as result of the initial event re-scheduling (reasons for which were questionable in first place). And can't register as a creditor as nobody to register with!

Add to that all the rumours in the press about venues and artists having never been properly booked in first place, and a bit of digging that shows this was all being run out of a small office on an industrial estate in Coventry. According to an address search on Companies House the address appears to be or have housed a significantly large number of 'active' businesses for the size and age of building, and has a rather long list of 'liquidated' businesses associated with it!

It genuinely begins to feel like somebody has run off with everybody's money.....

Does anybody have any further insight or update on what is going on with this company - genuinely feels worthy of some kind of further investigation into potential shady dealings (Watchdog maybe???)

Anybody happen to have visited or able to do a drive-by of the company address to see if the premises are still being actively used? (Unit 5 Mercia Business Village, Torwood Close, Coventry, England, CV4 8HX)

Debating starting a Small Claims process against the company, but doubt it would even be acknowledged by them, and would just end up loosing another £35!

Indeed - I called Cromwell Insolvency Limited but as soon as I said the name Simple Ticketing Ltd to the lady who answered the phone, she couldn't get rid of me fast enough!

So even though they share the same registered address, it appears that Cromwell Insolvency Ltd are not the insolvency practitioner for Simple Ticketing Ltd or M&B Promotions (or Christmas Party Nights Coventry Ltd, which also have identical company details, including incorporation date, address and original registered director).

I've also tried to dig a little deeper on Pamela Murray, the sole company director for both companies who replaced Melissa Austin, as there is some suggestions in press articles that she is a 'Coventry based administrator' - however there is no record of a practicing insolvency practitioner by the name of Pamela Murray in the Insolvency Service register.
