Dizzy.. that all sounds perfectly reasonable.. What do you need to make those things happen? Little House on the Prairie sounds beautiful.. Start with deleting those fake friends.. they suck the very life out of you. I decided I only allow people in my life who bring me joy and make me happy, that helped a lot. We made the girls bedtime 15 mintues earlier so OH or Meem or one of the girls could read to each other, I am rubbish, I never read to them.. I hate reading to them I am more comfortable with proper educational conversations. The only time you find for yourself is when you say no to giving your precious time to those fake people who do not appreciate it, or you.. take it back!! Your time on this earth is short and you deserve to be happy! My head is actually saying move house and home educate.. you can make all of those things a part of their education but I hate it so that is probably not a sensible option lol. Moving to a house with less worry, restoration and stress needed would be a huge help with your mental health.. I don't even know how you cope.. my head would be an utter shed. You are a strong and amazing woman and you can achieve anything you put your mind to.. you can recognise this dream!

Dizzy, I agree that all sounds reasonable. Learning to say no is important, don't worry about what other people are doing and make time, even just 15 minutes a day to start the sewing and sowing.Morning. I'll do essential flying today but I have a mountain of council work which is stressful and a headache to match. I'm seriously thinking of not standing for re-election in May.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Dizzy...sounds perfectly reasonable. I'll jump in on the 'own less' aspect. Possessions cost time and money. You have to have somewhere to keep them and they have to be cared for. So they are like little shackles on a long and heavy chain. Reducing them shortens the chain.
talking of which DD has decluttered DVDs and CDs so they are going to charity, mostly. I might eBay the 4 dvds still sealed. ASB are there any you're looking for?
this means I can put my cds on the empty rack in the office/guest room. I could take the rack down, it's wall hung, but then I'll have to fill the holes.
after two weeks of f/t I'm shattered. The only thing keeping me going is watching my meagre pension pot rise each month.
Cleaned hutch yesterday. Because they have garden access and the understorey the hutch is not used as a toilet so it wasn't too bad, fortunately.

Morning all
Dizzy what shouts out at me is that you need time for you. I know you have got a really busy full on life but is there any way that you can carve out a little bit of time regularly just to do something that is just for you? This isnt selfish it's pretty much essential. I think that some of the other stuff that you talk about will follow if you can start to make some space just to breathe and think and make yourself a priority. I recommend Dr Rangan Chattergee's books including the 4 Pillar Plan and Feel Better in 5 if you can get hold of these. Sendng you love and strength from someone who has been completely and utterly overwhelmed by life at times xx
Todays cycling group meeting has been called off, wet and windy all day. We should really go and see MIL and call at Li@l. Gave the utility room, ds loo and kitchen a good clean yesterday, upstairs could do with a hoover.
Have a good Sunday all xx11 -
Morning all.
Dizzy, have a (((hug))) from me xx If we all blow together hard enough, might we be able to stop the world so that you can get off? I'm definitely with you and Valli re "own less."
My decluttering drive is still going strong, helped by having to clear almost everything out of each room in turn as the decorator gets on with his work. My family - and DH - think I'm a bit mad to have most of the house painted in one fell swoop, but it was last done when we moved here 9 years ago, and it needed it now. I shall be well into my 80s if this layer of paint stays on for another 9 years, and by that point I shall probably be thinking of moving into a small flat, if that doesn't happen sooner, so the fewer possessions I keep now, the easier it will be for my children to deal with.
Yesterday I moved the contents of the two tall cupboards in the DR into the LR (behind the sofa), utility and kitchen. We have far too much alcohol in the house. I wish I could get rid of all, but most of it is DH's souvenirs from the whisky distillery coach tours that he used to go on when he was single. Nowadays neither of us drinks more than about once a year (we're on far too much medication!!!) so the bottles are all gathering dust. I fear that the cupboard might collapse one day under the total weight, so whilst I plan to put everything else back in the DR, I shall move all the unopened bottles to the hidey-hole under the stairs - I doubt that DH will notice
Hope everyone has a good day - see you on the new thread later xx

Thank you so much girls
I woke up feeling a bit sheepish, wondering if my vision of happiness was going to be scoffed at, but you've all proved yourselves not to be in the fake friend category.
First job of the day, let Maccy Ds know I've had my second negative Covid test and will return to work tonight....11 -
Morning all xx
Dizzy - that all sounds doable to me. Keep taking baby steps in the right direction and Little House on the Prairie lifestyle will be yours. ❤❤
I'm up, made my bed, eaten breakfast and supped 2 brews. I've ordered my repeat prescription. And watched some of the Winter Olympics. Must do today is fill up with petrol and shopping list / shop for packed lunches.
I'm feeling much more hoooman today. And looking forward to my long weekend off next weekend.

Just having third cuppa of the day. Me and the dogs are fed, downstairs Sunday jobs are done and I've had a chat with DH about my councillor position. I'm not standing for re-election and just making that decision feels like a weight lifted.Spend less now, work less later.11

Hi ladies
Dizzy - live the life YOU want. Get rid of stuff - eBay is your friend. I have been listing things like crazy over the past few weeks and it’s so liberating taking stuff to the PO and not even really noticing what has gone. We are all here for you and will always be your safe space xx
Valli - that’s so kind of you to think of us. Could you maybe PM me a photo of what there is? Thanks so much hunny xx
It’s persisting down here.
I’ve just ordered more straw for the chickens bedding, they really need a deep clean out. Kitchen is spotless but that will change soon as I’m cooking a pork roast dinner. The fire is lit and I need to eBay some more bits as I’ve ordered a coal delivery for this week and need to actually have some money to pay for it!
Lots of love to you all xx
