Thanks for your input Pigpen, that's exactly the idea I have and yes that would work. I have to get my head around the fact that we are going to store her stuff. I think I'm going to split it into English books (I want to keep them), French books, clothes, and other. That will clear the room and make it easy to clean and look presentable to sell. We have somewhere to store boxed stuff. I think I need to concentrate on what is necessary so the house can be photographed and put on the market. Photographer coming the week after next, so I have one week.
Sorry to have waffled on, it helps sort my head out.
I've got my SMILE back on, thanks for listening.

You waffle away, it is how I process things too.. lists and waffling..
When we were moving I filled storage boxes, put a board over the top and draped a blanket over and arranged cushions on top.. so it looked like a pretty ottoman/window seat.. looked nice it pics.
I have both WM's on and the stuff from the line airing in the TD!!

Happy Birthday Natty! xx
Hope everyone is OK. It's been quite quiet on this thread since the beginning of the week.
I am shattered and it's only midday. I cleaned the LR carpet yesterday afternoon and got a load of dirt out of it - it looks so much better today, but it's still a bit damp. I've had a convector heater on low setting all night, and I've opened the French windows to help create a draught. Thank goodness it's warmish and sunnyish today.
It has taken me 3.5 hours to dust every item that I had removed (books, CDs, DVDs, small pieces of furniture. and then put them back in the LR. I've sorted out all the leads behind the TV and realised that the ancient DVD player isn't connected to the much newer TV, which doesn't have a Scart socket! It just goes to show how much DH bothers about things like that! I also discovered that my very old and very cheap CD player now only works as a radio, so that's another thing to replace asap with a decent DAB/CD, but that's been planned for a while. Next job will be to clean the upholstery, then the Rag Doctor can be returned. The DR is now clear of crates and I can move all the stuff out of there over the weekend. There's hardly anything to move out of the kitchen. I shall be glad when this all decorating is finished, but the bits that have been done so far do look very nice.
DH emerged from his cocoon at about 11.15 today... 'Nuff said.
Better think about lunch and get something out of the freezer for tea. See you later x

Hi ladies
I am here; I’ve been making the most of the increase in energy I have had over the past few days and getting out walking with the dog, who is of course very grateful! I’ve done a lot of bits and pieces in the house, including de-gunking the shower plug hole (absolutely gross), baking lots of goodies for the children and decluttering via fleabay. I’ve had some success on there this week which has been excellent.
I have just lit the fire - no mean feat as I’ve run out of both kindling and fire lighters so was using lots of scrub grass from the garden to get it going! Also paid the January electricity bill and updated my spending notebook accordingly. The forecast for the weekend is ghastly, which is a shame as I really wanted to get the children out walking. We will play it by ear and see what happens xx

I had plans to get outside this weekend too ASB but it looks rubbish, still I did manage to get some washing almost dried outside today. Might have to do a bit of baking tomorrow.
3 hours extra done at the paid stuff today, but thats OK I will bank it for another day. Tired now, house is looking a bit grubby in places, will have to catch up on some flying tomorrow.
I have some holidays to use up too so I am taking some time off over the next two weekends. We are going away at the end of the month using the very generous voucher that DS1 gave us for Christmas.
Fire lit, feet up, might have a glass of Christmas alcohol. Oh and I have 4 library books to read!11 -

I had a lovely day of quietness and doing nothing after dropping off the packing boxes to the storage unit. I take advantage of the £20.00 deal in M&S and got our Valentine's meal for Monday ♥️
Dave spoilt me rotten with my presents and, bless him, he got me some daffodils as he remembered me telling him that my mum had her room full of daffodils when I was born. And they've just opened 🌼
Off to eat my doughnuts and cup of tea 🍵🍵🍵🤣Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
