Thanks SH. I hope 2025 is a good year for you too.

The last few days have been a bit hectic. Mr F has been ill. Since covid any infection seems to go straight to his chest and floor him. We had friends coming for NYE so a bit of a mad dash for me cleaning the house and prepping food on top of work. Fortunately, he's recovering now but has passed it on to me. So far, it feels like just a cold but I skipped parkrun this morning and am taking an easy day wrapped up on the sofa.

I've updated YNAB and got my challenge totals for the year.

Mortgage overpayments £27,500/7,500. The additional overpayment is largely due to inheritance so unlikely to be repeated.
Save 12k challenge £20,034.76/20,000. I'm really pleased with this considering I didn't really have my eye on the ball this year. It really is a testament to the power of MSE and the habits that it has helped me form.

Right time for a bit of a break to make some plans for 2025.

Well its been a quiet couple of weeks for me. I'm aleady on virus 2 of 2025 so all my healthy living plans have gone by the wayside.
I've signed up to MFW challenge for £3500 and savings for £25,000. The latter will be a bit of a stretch and could be seriously derailed depending on how work goes but I do want to get the focus back on earlyish retirement.

Well, January was a bit of a wash out with illness so all my plans for a fitter healthier new year were in vain :)

I was considering trying for a run this morning but wimped out with the cold weather. I did manage a short work out inside though so that's a start.

I'm a little behind on savings for January, largely because I allocated a fair bit to the holiday fund for the year. I was hoping to sit down with Mr F and get something booked but hopefully this month.

I did win £75 in permium bonds and £100 this month so a little bit of luck.
