I wondered that too. I was just looking at the account as a possible one to transfer to. I only use apps for accounts where I need to access them frequently. Otherwise I prefer to view online.DRS1 said:
Do you need an App for this account? Almost the first thing I saw on the page was a download from Apple or Google bit. But when I read the summary it seemed to say you could open and manage it online.GalacticaActual said:Marcus has launched a 1-year fixed rate saver (13th January 2026?):4.55% AER/gross* (fixed)

It's Marcus so primarily web based. They do have an app but I've never used it1

As long as you haven't got a Marcus Fixed Rate Saver already. This matches the 4.55% I got with them back in October. Would've definitely added another if I had been able to.refluxer said:I'd recommend anyone interested in that Marcus fixed rate saver to open one sooner rather than later because, just like their last one, it may not hang around for long due to it being a decent amount higher than anything else available.0 -
I haven't used Marcus before. Can I make a further addition to the account once started or is it just the initial lump sum?mebu60 said:

You can only have one fixed rate saver with Marcus.
Marcus websire state "You cannot hold more than one sole and one joint account for each account type". I opened a Marcus fixed rate saver last year and it won't allow me to have another.
Shame I have a bond maturing soon elsewhere and this is would have been a good home for the funds.

You have a 14 day funding window so you can add in that window but not afterwards. I just opened one and got a message saying I can pay in until 27 January .katejo said:

I was just checking that you didn't actually need an app to do things like get the money out at the end of the term. Sometimes you can apply online but then you need an app to log on or deal with withdrawals.0 -
The FAQ says open and manage online, no mention of the app.DRS1 said:

As I said I read the summary but I also saw the reference to downloading the app from somewhere which is in the big box at the top of the page so I queried it. It wouldn't be the first time I had got through an application process to find there was something you could only do with an app. Far too many savings institutions these days think people have smart phones (or tablets).crumpet_man said:
