Have you allowed the two working days for it to show as per the FAQ?Alicon88 said:Anyone had experience with Family Building Society?
I opened an account this weekend and yesterday afternoon (sunday) transferred my first lump of money (20,000 the minimum required) but as for today they didn't arrive yet on the FBS account..
shall I be worried 😟?
unfortunately I was at work all day so now the help lines are close and need something to relieve my anxiety 😟😄
thank you to anyone who can help me ☺️

No I did not

I am used to immediate bank transfers that's why I was wondering if there was any problem.
I will check again tomorrow and try to relax tonight
Many thanks for your reply!0 -

Non-working days best avoided if possible for these sorts of activities if you are apprehensive.Alicon88 said:Anyone had experience with Family Building Society?

When large minimum payments are required you can still do a smaller test payment. If it's not credited it will be bounced back which indicates the target account is valid for making the larger payment.0 -
I've always found this assertion rather unconvincing. How do you know a bounce back indicates that the target account is valid? Couldn't a bounce also occur if either of the following are true:mebu60 said:If it's not credited it will be bounced back which indicates the target account is valid for making the larger payment.
• The account details are invalid, i.e. the target account doesn't exist at all
• The account details are valid, but for a different customer who also doesn't have the minimum amount in their account1 -
I'm surprised Charter Savings Bank aren't mentioned in the best 2-year fixed Cash ISAs, currently 4.45%, so better than TSB. Are they not considered an established name?

Charter's rate is neither high enough to make the main part of MSE's best-buy table, nor are Charter well-known enough for the 'established name' section. The latter is subjective, of course, but it tends to consist of banks and building societies that everyone will have heard of, which usually means those found on the high street.Nick_S said:I'm surprised Charter Savings Bank aren't mentioned in the best 2-year fixed Cash ISAs, currently 4.45%, so better than TSB. Thanks for confirming, that's what I suspected. My wife has an ISA with them from a previous MSE recommendation and was surprised they weren't suggested.refluxer said:... nor are Charter well-known enough for the 'established name' section.
