I don't know much about loans, but is a PCP something to do with a car loan?

Hope you don't mind me asking. Feel free to ignore.

    Editted to add a link:

    PCP = Personal Contract Purchase???

Yes, it's a bit like that, but this isn't based on a car. But I wish I had done my car that way. Time the 'loan length' right, get the right car, and you can pay about £500 in interest, over a whole year, drive a nice car, have it warranted, have it serviced for free etc etc, for around £500.

If you buy it, you still got to service it etc. So although, yes, your paying £500 in interest, you walk away from the depriciation, you walk away from the servicing costs, and you walk away from any massive failiures.

You do pay the £500 or X amount though for that privilige, BUT, in some cases, one service and you made that up.

It does not work on everything though, and I wouldnt have been able to do it, or even thought about it without talking to an IFA who stated I was crazy for spening my money on a depriciating asset! :D

Because what is the point in discussing it with people who are not in the situation?

So what exactly do you wish to know about bankruptcy, G_D?

Are you contemplating Bankruptcy as an option for your own debt problems?

  • The system is abused every day. Its the same with the welfare state, it started off there for people who needed it but over time people see it as a right rather than a safety net. As I've said before it's pointless blaming the people, it's the law that needs changing.

As with all support systems its better that its a abused by a few then not available to those who really need it .

There will always be people who will be affected by others going bankrupt , however indirectly , but then doesnt everything others do affect us in some way?

just a small point , i do understand how the word congratulations can grate , we all have to remember how the written word can read differently to people , and all make allowances.

And the perils of posting on forums is that not everyone agrees with what you have to say , and you have to accept that and argue your views in a reasoned and controlled way , petty name calling and spiteful remarks just weakens your case

Well, 1, I am understanding more about the emotional side.

    2. I have got an insight into the original posters situtation, which has educated me on some stuff, and hopefully, I done the same to her. Were speaking absolutely fine, and I have a lot of respect for her. Something your not aware of because she PM'ed me about it, nicely.

    3. I'm learning some great new abuse words and noting them all down :D (dont take it the wrong way!!)

    4. Although you may think this is totally untrue, I have actually started to think about the whole 'how easy it is to get credit' thing. As opposed to my views before, which were a point blank 'fools to themselves for taking it'...and this was highlighted by a person who has gone bankrupt, and hope she doesn't mind me mentioning her, but she stated about the 'you can have £500 credit thing'. It does kind of allow people vulnerable to that to get into a mess.

    Good on you Graham,

I knew we'd educate you sooner or later and you'd be a "big" enough person to admit it.

If you'd just accept that your "investigations" are causing problems for some people, who really don't deserve it, then I'm sure we'd be a proper little group of buddies.

We could even find another vulnerable group and have a go at them.:D

So, all done and dusted, you start a thread on Discussion Time and I'll come and keep you entertained, although I fear you wouldn't last long if I don't have the constraints that I do here, and you agree not to post on here anymore.:T :T

Who got the thread closed down on discussion time?

Hey, you can stop climbing up onto that high horse for a second!! You haven't educated me, it's the various posters, such as Migz, who have discussed without abuse that have educated me.

Who got it closed? The person above telling me all about board rules and telling me to go discuss it there! lol :)

I did, it was their efforts which closed it!

Right, Richard, if you promise not to get abusive to any of the posters there, I would absolutely LOVE to take the discussion there.

You may think right now you could take me down, but I got a big grin on my face at the mo, as I know the posters there.....so, (tounge in cheek) best man wins!? :p

Not right now though, as I have 5 computers around me in various stages of repair, and I need full focus on that one :D

That's a great post, thank you. I didn't know a thing about bankruptcy before I came here, I've not been bankrupt and hope never to be. But, I did have a lot of debt from getting a business up and running. I also was hit twice with clients going bankrupt owing us over 200k. It's been a rough and rocky road.

The people here helped me through that time, and I hope in turn I helped them a little too. Some of my friends ended up going bankrupt, both Rog and Richard were struggling with their businesses at the same time, I was lucky, I found another way out, they weren't so lucky. But, they have educated me on what bankruptcy really means, not in a black and white, debt-creditor kind of way, but the human effects, the reality on how it takes over someone's life.

As with everything in life, it's so very easy to see one side of the argument, to just see things as good or bad. But, everyone has their own personal circumstances, some do take the p*ss out of the system, but you're highly unlikely to find those people on a support forum.

You're on mate, there's no thinking about it, and it doesn't matter how many of you there are. If only you knew; lambs to the slaughter.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I'll only get abusive if one of your little boys does.

I really do have work to do, should be able to catch you some time this evening; oh such unbridled joy.:j :j
