Could you start with this one, please?

That was when you replied to one of my posts referring to 'us' as unducated bigots.

Richard. Last post trying to sort things out.

You have been to my 'area' of the board and spouted abuse and lies, you know you have, your comments about it being deleted are still there.

I am doing neither here, I'm just discussing with others who are also, discussing with me.

So, can we either move on, like others have done or leave it. This thread was going very well just then.

Offers on the table. Please don't try and say you wouldnt do something just to upset someone when you came to other boards doing exactly that.

Take it or leave it, but everyone can see I'm happy to put it behind us and move on.

    Hi Graham,

I shouldn't have posted on the children's forum; it was anachronistic, and I deleted it as I was asked to do.

You refer to it as discussing the subject, but you know that's not what's going to happen. If you want a discussion, let's either keep it to the Discussion Board, or swap emails and mobile phones and keep it away from parts of the site where it's going to upset people.

I'm more than happy to trade insults with people who deliberately go out of their way to spread misery, but in any other situation not at all.

I'll take your offer as long as we keep it off here (being the Bankruptcy and Living With It Board) and in the appropriate place.

Again, GD, you misquote me - what I actually said was:
"On the occasions that I have experienced 'stigma' it has, almost inevitably, been at the hands of uneducated bigots."

Nowhere, in that post (no 77) or in any other post, have I referred to 'you' or your co-posters as 'uneducated bigots'. I am very carefull in the wording of my posts, as I know how easy it can be to misinterpret posts.
I think that an apology, from you, may be due.

Ok, you have savings that double the loan, but why take out a loan and pay interest on it, if you had the money already. That does not make financial sense.

Dependant on the loan, it can make financial sense.

I either pay for the goods, lose a chunk of money thats making interest, or, I effectively rent the goods, and pay interest, but it relieves me of that liability and anything that should go wrong with that liability.

Same question can be said for 'Why rent when you can buy'. Some people don't want the boiler breaking down hanging over them, or the insurance, or would simply like to walk away and move.

One of the biggest mistakes I ever made financially was handing over a bankers draft for a car. I wish I had taken a loan which in effect would have meant I wouldnt have owned the car, but it would also mean I would have owned the depriciation! :)

I certainly am finding that you are unable to substantiate your arguments, you are mis-quoting, to suit your case, and whilst you appear very quick to throw in judgemental comments, you are reticent to answer any direct question.

Sorry Richard - I think GD's question was, primarily, aimed at you.

    They're:

    (A) Shallow - because the examples you use may or may not be true, and

    (B) Meaningless - because they don't form part of a discussion; they're a tool for upsetting people.

Apology granted. I took it the wrong way.

Apology comes with a disclaimer though :p My taking it the wrong way was based on previous posts from previous deleted threads :)

Doesn't make them shallow. The examples I have used are true.

The only time they don't make for discussion is when the other person won't discuss or throws a barrage of abuse. Then, yes, the discussion element is lost.

But you'll see page 4 of this thread is full of useful discussion, stemmed from what I had stated.

Then, in that case I can not accept your apology, as I have never referred to you, or your co-posters, as 'uneducated bigots', whether in this thread, or in any others that may or may not have been deleted.

Agree, totally. And thats what the system is for :)

I'm trying to state please don't abuse this system. We had a post yesterday stating 'it's the new fashion, if you havent done it, you haven't lived'.

I've seen MANY like that (but not quite so in your face) on this board, but I have never commented here.

You got to see, that does not help you, these posts from people saying 'have i now got enough debt to go bankrupt' and people saying 'yer, if you play on it a bit it will make it easier' do not help your cause in putting your point across as it being your last resort.

I have a friend who had debts, a restaurant business her ex husband ran into the ground and left her to sort out, plus the tax and vat chasing her ( as he decided to not pay them before he ran off).
She went to see a debt management company in Grimsby, who advised her to sell her house to a friend , then to max / ramp all her credit cards and credit facilities then to go bankrupt. As her credit rating wasn't at the time bad, he also advised her to get as much credit, store cards and even loans too....
This so-called advisor charged her over £3000 for this ' help ' which he said, would just go onto her credit card bills.

It seems then there are people who are encouraging you to go bankrupt and advising how to maximise it to your and their own potential too.
A word of warning, she was at her wits end and foolishly listened to these people. She has since been hauled in front of a court and the official receiver, plus been interviewed by the VAT man for the way her business was run. She has been told she could still face prosecution. This advisor ( I will let anyone know their details if anyone wants to steer clear of then, via a PM ) then washed his hands of her and left her to fend for herself !!!!
