Why should his wife be declared bankrupt? Bankruptcy relates to an individual. Partners, whether married or not, have no responsibility for the debts of the other partner, unless they are 'joint debts'.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I doubt it, because from what I can gather, the guy took out the loans and cards himself. If he was having a hard time with paying everything I doubt he would be able to fund a decent divorce lawyer would he? I personally know how flippin expensive those people are especially when you have a difficult ex. Who knows what the circumstances there were, but I shouldn't think she was giving much away if she's happy to see him living on a park bench in December.
You might be right Graham, he may have made some very stupid choices, but I've got to go with the benefit of the doubt because I really don't know the full story.:A

No, it was stated he ended up that way because of a split, and wife would have taken half of everything.
So therefore, the wife would presumably be in the same position. She's got the same as he has. I'm not saying it is, just discussing
Anyway, Richard. I'm not trying to change anyones minds, and if you think I am, then thats where your problem lies.
You've done some pretty poor and to be honest, pathetic attempts to bring me down, but have not suceeded.
I am now discussing something with people who have gone bankrupt and theres no malice, abuse, or nastiness. Nor do I think I'm upsetting anyone.
All of us have made good progress to be able to talk about this. So please don't bring it all down again. If you want to join in and discuss, feel free.
So, to start with, how are my arguments A) Shallow,
Meaningless.
If I am upsetting you with this discussion, please speak now and tell me why

The website is Bh, but the Forums are subject specific. I wouldn't dream of going on the "Mental Health" Forum and having a laugh at people suffering there; regardless of my opinions on such things as depression, for example.
For the simple reason, that I have no desire to upset or offend other people.0 -

I certainly am finding that you are unable to substantiate your arguments, you are mis-quoting, to suit your case, and whilst you appear very quick to throw in judgemental comments, you are reticent to answer any direct question.
Sorry Richard - I think GD's question was, primarily, aimed at you.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Richard. Last post trying to sort things out.
You have been to my 'area' of the board and spouted abuse and lies, you know you have, your comments about it being deleted are still there.
I am doing neither here, I'm just discussing with others who are also, discussing with me.
So, can we either move on, like others have done or leave it. This thread was going very well just then.
Offers on the table. Please don't try and say you wouldnt do something just to upset someone when you came to other boards doing exactly that.
Take it or leave it, but everyone can see I'm happy to put it behind us and move on.0 -

Ok, which questions was I supposed to answer? Then I will try to answer them.0 -
Please point out where, in any of my posts, in this thread, I have made any 'snap judgement'?
