Hello everyone, I’ve enjoyed reading all the tips so thankyou… I have another for the washing machine and is especially good for dirtier loads that usually need longer cycles..instead of using a long cycle, set a shorter one, use bio detergent and pause the wash cycle part way through so clothing soaks for a bit, then unpause it’s and let it run a bit to agitate everything and pause again etc until you’re happy for it to run to the end. I have a 20 minute cycle that lets me do this and it cleans everything perfectly. In the warmer summer months, the highest spin cycle won’t be needed either if you’re able to line dry. Oh and remember to turn off the WM at the plug between uses. Every little bit helps.Hope that’s useful to someone.10

I agree soaking is a really effective way to get a better result. I have a big bucket and put things to soak the night before I put on a wash with a spoonful of Vanish cheapo substitute and a spoonful of washing soda. This lifts out the dirt and sanitises so I can wash everything on a much lower temperatureIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!7

@LadyHarriet I can highly recommend the Scrubba bag. I have the larger one and as well as using it for travel, I've used it a lot at home for the items that normally end up sitting in the bottom of the washing basket because there's never a 'full load' that suits them 😂8

Very much depends on your individual hair. There isn't a one size fits all.
If I don't wash mine every other day it goes visibly lank and greasy.
In fact if I do it say Monday morning and Wednesday evening, my hair will have already started to degrade by the time I'm in the shower.
I'd happily wash it less if I could get away with it, but I can't!1 -
i plait my hair in different interesting ways when my hair goes lank. i leave my hair 10 days in between washes since retiring. It has gone very fine since menopause. If i am seeing anyone I just give it a squirt of perfume along middle parting.21k savings no debt3

Depends on your hair type and style. Mine's only short so doesn't take much washing, but it needs restyling as it goes a bit mad overnight.

I notice MSE Martin's top fuel saving tip follows the good advice in this thread: heat the person and not the space! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4
