@newlywed, I really don't know - cooking smells when working must be quite a distraction!

That would drive me mad! I am known for my hatred of smells, so much so I re-sited my kitchen so it is away from the original footprint of my home. Still not using it to cook though :)

So much to read, so little time.

Yeah. I try to keep the kitchen door closed but it’s a small flat and no option to move the kitchen :)

that’s why I wondered if a pressure cooker or multi cooker was more sealed and so less smells escaping… I guess a pressure cooker isn’t on for 8 hours in any case.

have limited storage space so unsure whether a pressure cooker is worth the space, when a slow cooker does the job and cheaper than the hob… just need to put up with feeling hungry from the smells

Is this the right place to ask about halogen ovens? I've got one and have recently started using it.

My question is regarding the bulbs.  ISTR reading somewhere recently that halogen bulbs are being phased out in favour of LEDs.  So 2 questions really!

    1)  Does this just apply to lightbulbs or cookers too?
    2) Should I get a spare while they're still around?

    Thanks

The bulb on my previous halogen went not that long ago. I saw a youtube video on how to fit a new one but when I looked at the cost it was cheaper to get another (2nd hand) halogen off Facebook marketplace. I think the replacement bulb was about £15 and I paid a tenner for another one instead.

Another here using the oven less and less.  Only really use it when I do a roast on Sunday as I like to roast a load of veg as well but if I'm just doing a joint then it's either the air fryer or the slow cooker or Remoska depending on what it is.

I bought a maxi health grill, the stealthy one New Year, had an instant pot, slow cooker and the stealthy 15 in 1 already, I have noticed a definite decrease in energy consumption, smart meter, awaiting my quarterly bill now, I have not used my gas oven since, but use the hob as normal, in fact I haven`t used the 15 in 1 either, I steam or pressure cook in the instant pot, the maxi grill bakes, roasts, air fries etc and I think it`s a very useful piece of kit.
Do I need it or just want it.
