I conducted the final test, 3x and it has all shown the same results! My landlord sounds less keen on the idea and will be doing his own tests later to quadruple confirm. Would make sense as next door had a bigger flat and were a couple home constantly!8

Hi,landlord just won't want having to sort it out.Hope you get your side sorted, but new neighbour maybe not happy (though best to get it sorted now) and what about old neighbour, no way can chase him/her for difference.Good luck.0

Would make sense as next door had a bigger flat and were a couple home constantly! The landlord may be reluctant to believe it, but the evidence is there. If it were me, I'd tell the other flat the position - let them see it for themselves. You have both paid for the electricity recorded, probably at a cost to yourself, but the main thing is to sort it out going forward. It's none of the tenants faults, so maybe you can negotiate some sort of discount with the landlord, but proving how much extra you've paid is going to be close to impossible.I don't know how you get them switched over, but if the landlord doesn't act soon, it may be something you and the other flat will have to push through. I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable than me may have some advice on that.

The great thing is the other tenants moved in around the time I did so landlord will have meter readings from just before I arrived and whilst the flat was empty so should be able to quite accurately see how much electric I should have paid for! But yes probably gunna be a slow battle to get it all sorted.1

Hi,the landlord needs to get meter/flat things sorted, but regarding the bills, could be complicated with possibly different suppliers,.0

But yes probably gunna be a slow battle to get it all sorted. If you're both with the same supplier and on the same tariff, then it will be pretty easy to work out. If not, you're going to have to look at kWh used and figure out what each of you should have paid. Then you (or the other flat) could argue that you would have switched to a different tariff if you had known your actual usage. Could be a can of worms!Might be worth contacting citizens advice to see what you can do. But with the new energy price cap being announced today, they could be innundated with questions...

I wouldn't just leave it to the landlord - you have a contract with the energy company and their records will be wrong. I would contact them directly.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Agreed, since I'm moving at the end of the month I want a paper trail in my name so I can keep up to date, going to contact them as soon as landlord has done his tests also.theoretica said:I wouldn't just leave it to the landlord - you have a contract with the energy company and their records will be wrong. Are you keeping daily meter readings of both meters, just to get some evidence of typical use?edendarcy said:
