Court Claim Defence Guidance - UK Parking Control Ltd

I believe those added charges they aren't supposed to sneak in are hidden in that £210. Like you, the maximum charge on the initial PCN was £100. They threaten an extra £60 for late payment "in accordance with the terms and conditions of parking". Obviously I've never seen those terms and conditions so that's no use to me. The other £50 I assume is the interest they also claim although I've not yet done the maths.
As far as I know they are fine to ask for the court fees and interest. It's just that extra £60 they slip on for vague reasons. In my claim form particulars they simply call it "damages".1 -
Good afternoon everyone
I have my defence 99.9% complete now and plan to sign it tomorrow, before submitting it. I added 'Damages' as the description of the '£110.00' fee that's been added to the original charge, so I presume this is ok. I had noticed 'damages/costs' being mentioned elsewhere in the defence template too, so wasn't sure whether it was unnecessary me stating this again?
Other than that minor query, I feel I'm good to go. Thanks again to everyone that's helped and contributed, very much appreciated!0 -
I submitted by defence this morning and have received the automated response, confirming receipt of my email. I'll update you all as things progress.
Thanks again0 -

Thanks againPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks againI'll await the N180 form and get that filled in and returned, as per the guide. Then it's on to the witness statement and any evidence I intend to use. If i've understood correctly?

Just another small update. I've now received a letter in the post from HM Courts & Tribunal Service, acknowledging receipt of my defence and informing me that a copy has been served to the claimant.
So now just to wait and see whether they decide to proceed or not (I presume they will) and go from there2 -
Good afternoon everyone
Just a progress update on how things are moving along. I've now received the N180 questionnaire, so i'll complete that as per the instructions via the newbies thread. I know I need to send a copy back to Northampton, so will this be the same email address I sent my defence to? I'll also send a copy to the claimant, but wasn't sure specifically what email address and/or department i'd address it to.
As always, any guidance is much appreciated.
Thanks.0 -
Remember that checklist you were following when you filed your Defence?
Items 8, 9 and 10 on that list are well worth reading again.1 -
