Apparently it was a mistake to offer this to ovo customers, it should only have been for those still with SSE and those who managed to sign up (good on you) the situation is being reviewed.

It is not possible to sign up to SSE as a new customer but if I were with them already I would be looking to see if I could find this tariff to switch too for sure.
Hello all and thanks for the information.

How could they back out of this after confirmation emails?

I'm an Ovo customer. Was intending to roll onto variable when plan expired on 1st March, but was checking too just in case. This showed this morning, tacked on to the end of their easier to ignore offers. Jumped when I saw it. Confirmation emails immediately received - 12 months from March 1st at very similar rates to those already mentioned with no exit fee.

  • Well I’ve logged into my app and online account and both showing I’m on the new fix and protect v4 plan.

Good news! The fact that it is a genuine offer (rather than a typo mistake) that was just temporarily targeted to the wrong customer base hopefully should mean that there shouldn't be a problem. Mine doesn't start until the end of March but I'm not expecting problems. 3.1 in the T&C's states that the contract starts "if applying online (either directly through our website, or via an online agent, or other third party website), when you click to agree that you accept these terms and conditions". Plus the receipt of the confirmation emails too.
  • :) Just received a notification on my phone good news your new plan starts today.
  • Just confirming - logged on to Ovo and it says new fix and protect v4 plan starting early March. Thanks all.

Really hope this comes off for everyone. Would have saved me about £2000 but missed it by about an hour...
