It may be only offered to people renewing. Probably wasn't for new customers so it won't show up on the website. It would be interesting to see if anyone else has renewed using it since now.
  • For months they offered three fix a one year loyalty a two and three years fix then this morning out the blue the one I chose.

Apparently it was a mistake to offer this to ovo customers, it should only have been for those still with SSE and those who managed to sign up (good on you) the situation is being reviewed.

It is not possible to sign up to SSE as a new customer but if I were with them already I would be looking to see if I could find this tariff to switch too for sure.
    I think....

    Thanks for this information.

We are told - repeatedly! - that the prices companies are allowed to charge on the Standard Variable Tariff(SVT) means they are losing money.

Yet apparently Ovo are allowing SSE customers to transfer to this tariff with rates below the present SVT and remain on this tariff for 12 months over a period when there are probably going to two further increases in the SVT(01 April and 01 Oct). Thus they would seem to setting themselves up to lose even more money.

However I believe that companies can claim compensation for money they lose on customers from other companies??

If SoLR'd, yes, for six months from the date of transfer Not where eg. OVO buys SSE's retail division.
