Got 4 lbs of blackberries today. I have 4lbs in the freezer already. Can you have too many blackberries?
blackberries in whisky make a great liqueur and my friend says the resulting boozy fruit is good for a crumble!Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin9 -
My mum used to make blackberry vinegar, anyone else ever had this? it took about 10 days to make.8

The blackberries in whisky sound lovely, DH would love them. Will pick some more next weekend to try that. We found a couple of apple trees in a hedge. Not crab apples . They aren't ready to pick yet but we will go back.8

Can never have enough blackberries in my opinion. Crumble, jam, coulis, add to various alcohols. All delicious!
Noticed that Morrisons Savers range has either expanded, or they're trying to promote it as there seemed to be a lot more of it about today!
Got a few yellow sticker bits today. Sausages for 38p (now in freezer), pack of pork pies for 60p, pack of sausage rolls for 25p, some Warburton thins for 75p. Others had beat me to the best of the fruit and veg. Luckily we are well stocked anyway.
Did the car boot, but it was quite quiet sadly. The weather was a bit uncertain and I think that put people off. I packed early as it was quiet and the rain was about to start. Still, I made a profit of around £17 which isn't huge, but it paid for today's shopping at leastFebruary wins: Theatre tickets10 -

Blackberries also work well in vodka for the people who dont like whisky. We picked our first lot yesterday but there werent many that were ripe.

Blackberries are really the only fruit that you can put in whisky- so you can not taste the whisky afterwards . The only reason I tried this is because I had loads of whisky (yes, I like it but hardly ever drink drinkies) and I really didn't want to splash out on vodka when there was booze sitting idle in the cupboard.
A friend bought a Savers Morrisons plain yoghurt - 500g- just 35 pence on Friday. We were both amazed at the price so yes, they might be relaunching Savers range. Most supermarkets seem to have axed theirs.
Just looked online- says there are over 240 products in the Savers range but actually only 112 actually showing!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I've been buying the 35p yogurt for about a month now, my breakfast most days is a savers special (save the golden syrup). 90g oats, 167g yogurt, 40g fruit and nut mix, 10g sultanas, 5g syrup. Add a little water (it should stir easily), stir well, then leave in the fridge overnight, eat cold in the morning. I find it to be delicious, cheap (33p per massive serving!), and it weighs in at a substantial 672 calories, over 13g of fibre, and over 26g of protein - a pretty good start to the day for me.
I'm eating this for health not cost cutting reasons, but have used the cheapest ingredients I could find and have zero complaints. I need this kind of serving, but many (e.g. my OH) could easily halve the recipe and get a good breakfast for under 17p per day!
Edit: It looks like Mr M have been price matching A**i, as have most other supermarkets. The same ingredients can be found at very similar prices at other stores.8 -
Is that yoghurt full fat, or no fat? As I've found the no fat is much cheaper than full fat, but I want the full fat version. I haven't seen one much cheaper than 75p a pot in any of the shops (though my nectar prices had it 51p a pot a week or so ago, so I got 4).February wins: Theatre tickets6
