My X has stopped working and I only found out when he emailed to say that the maintenance was stopped.
Even when his benefits start, I'll only get £7 per week 😞
I've had to have a food bank referral 😳
I have cancelled any non essential direct debits and reduced my budget.
Does anyone has any tips on what I can do to save money?Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨12 -
Oh I forgot to mention, we know rice and flour prices are going to rocket this winter. I was in Tescos ( not my local, a bigger one which I think they call a superstore? ) and in the world food aisle they do the big packs of rice and chapati flour - ( which is plain flour so worth working out price per KG if you are a baker ) I got 10Kg of basmati for £14, 2 pound up on my last buy last year but still a very very good price. Im still using last years and we do eat a lot of rice, so its worth stocking up on. I keep it under the stairs , just peg the bag over to stop flies and of course give it a good wash before usingIm now looking our for large quantities of wholemeal pasta. 5 or 10 kg bags would really help me out. Lidl do the larger packs but its white and that makes me so bloated nowadays , I prefer wholemeal ( plus you cant actually eat as much

Does anyone has any tips on what I can do to save money?Theres two boards here where there is no judgment, here and the deb free wannabesIts always worth putting up your SOA on there, your incoming and outgoings. People may come across as hard but they arent judging , just pointing out where changes can be made now - and futureHere we will make as little money as you have available last you as long as possible. Meals may be different, but they will fill you and be pretty healthy. Im not completely on my uppers but I still make a few cheap as chips meals a week , I actually like lentilsDont feel ashamed or try to make things better then they are, the core posters on here are a great help if they know what they are dealing with17 -

Grocery delivery arrived, all P&C. Cheerful and very helpful driver who transferred everything from his crates to mine and he's put me down for a refund for a pack of oven bottom muffins that were somewhat squashed! Everything has been put away barring the meat packs that need portioning before freezing but I'm having a coffee break first.
Next job is to order a new duvet for our bed. Our current one is a 4.5 tog but we could do with a warmer one for winter. I'd like some new pillows too but they can wait.
Tea tonight is sausage, chips and beans. I've raided the store cupboards and have made four individual fruit & jelly pots (raspberry with peaches), just need to make some custard topping using half a tin of coconut milk that's now thawed out.Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -

Random question, but how do you know when apricots are ripe I picked up a pack for 10p today and I found a chicken and apricot recipe that looks quite nice but they’re a bit of solid and I’m not sure if they’re meant to be like that or not.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9
