If H &S is absent I would be looking at getting compensation fron your ex employer. It may be worth consulting a no win solicitor.

@Longwalker, when you're up to it I would suggest that you write down what happened & have photos taken of your injuries. Also make notes of names & approximate dates of other incidents, and check if your home insurance has legal cover to pursue a claim.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Similar happened to me some years ago. My union nailed them for five grand. I would sue,as health and safety is important. But good luck with your health and forward challenge.10

Longwalker said:However I took a nasty fall in work last week and Im now out of work so things are going to be tight, very tight, for a few months till I recover and am fit enough to go looking for a job. Im waiting physio which thankfully starts Friday, but in the meantime the pain is really getting me down and I cant get comfortable to sleep so Im feeling rather sorry for myself@Longwalker , if you are unable to work due to an ill health/injury and you have been paying your NI contributions you should be able to claim ESA for up to a year in the form of New Style ESA (formerly contribution based ESA). You can make your initial claim on https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowanceIt doesn't have as many hoops as Universal Credit/JSA and is generally a bit easier to get on with (I've had some trouble with lost forms, but even still they are far easier to deal with). Whilst it's not a huge amount of money, every little bit helps, especially as it is one that you are only entitled to if you've paid your NI.

@Longwalker If you haven’t already entered it into the accident book you need to send in a report now, with a covering letter requesting that it is put in. Name the person you spoke to on the day in the report - that you informed them too. I’m not sure where they stand allowing that you have given your notice in, but if you would not have been fit to return to work in any case (it sounds as though you wouldn’t) then make sure you tell them that as well. It may be that it will force them to report it to the HSE and it sounds as though an investigation is long overdue so you may save someone else suffering an even worse fate.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sounds like the accident should have been reported to HSE and so company are in breach:
Accidents must be reported where they result in an employee or self-employed person being away from work, or unable to perform their normal work duties, for more than seven consecutive days as the result of their injury

I wondered that but then I thought the poster is off work because they walked out, not because they’re not well enough to be there. So wasn’t sure if that made a difference or not.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -
OP didnt walk out. They handed in their notice due to lack of care from employer and was puton gardening leave. Due to the employers attitude there could be a case for constructive dismissal. Certainly they should be getting legal advice.

Doing my online shop, at least 3 things have increased on price since last week. 2 by 5% but my daughters juice has gone up 20%. Absolutely ridiculous now. It’s never ending:money::rotfl::T9
