Usual weekly walk to the Coop today - gosh, it was windy outside - but thankfully, I managed to get there and back without getting wet. I was wanting some fresh veg for the weekend but can't say I was impressed with their offerings so didn't bother. We can make do with tinned or frozen for now.
I fared better with the ys section - x 6 thick Lincolnshire sausages, a jar of mincemeat (bb Jun 2024) and a Battenburg cake plus a half price offer on a pack of breaded ham slices for sandwiches. All in all, a saving of £4.59, plus I had 60p off in membership offers. Also dropped off the soft plastics bag in their collection bin.
On the way there I returned a book to the Little Free Library. I've amassed a few books from there for my winter reading pile but, since I decluttered books last year, I don't want them lingering once I've read them.
@Florenceem - I've kept a series of 12 that took me a long while to collect secondhand and I've still got to find the final two at a reasonable price. One day ....Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
i had an interesting day with my toilet as the flush went and I was occasionally using a weeks worth of water in a couple of hours overnight. Luckily I can check my daily usage online and I could see the jump in usage. Got the man out who fixed the problem so only used about £14.00 extra water in total. But will keep monitoring my usage as could have gone on for a lot longer if I did not have my smart water meter21k savings no debt6

My flush went wrong - water was continually running into bowl - I took front of built in toilet off and pressed on lever to fix it.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I made the most of the wind today and managed to get two washing lines of washing almost dried. A pair of my baggy- seen better days-belly warmer pants must have blown off the line...as they have disappeared and I can't see them anywhere.
I dare not go door to door asking the neighbours...13 -
@London_1 Sorry to hear you’re in hospital - wishing you well and hoping you’re back to fighting fitness soon.
and @Longwalker - I do sympathise, it’s an awful decision, and yes, far from easy.I suspect you’ll end up feeling guilty whichever route you went! And yes - the report definitely still counts - not least as they should have sat you down on the day to do it, if you were well enough to do so!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I had something similar happen to me a good few years ago when I lived in flats - I hung out washing as I was a bottom flat and forgot it was there - overnight we had a really windy night and when I went out the next morning noticed a big gap on the washing line and couldn't figure out what it was - it was only a few days later when I saw my neighbour walking past my flat with a rather distinctive tshirt on that I realised it was mine and must of blown over the roof of our flats into her garden and she had washed and kept it for herself!Time to find me again10 -
The book quartet is The Neyler Series by Judith Saxton - I have heard that my ordered books are on the way.
My mouth feels a bit sore which is usual after a dentist has poked around and drilled teeth.
I suppose the woman didn't know where the tee shirt had blown from and thought it was silly to throw it away.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
