dreamyd said:KH is a nasty piece of work - she rightly got banned from Twitter and lost her job at LBC for unbridled bigotry. The last thing I heard about her was that she was facing bankruptcy after losing a libel case (with significant legal costs) to Jack Monroe, the cookery writer and anti-poverty campaigner.
I've recycled empty cans which have more meaning and purpose than her.
When you are in a hole, stop digging.
She could not care less about anyone struggling and in hardship and I really hoped we had heard the last of her.

Our SA food bank wasn't so busy this week. We had crates of stuff outside for people to take from - tomatoes/potatoes/peppers/spring onions/avocados and bread products.
Been to Ald - super six section was empty.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Many people I know feel unrepresented and although she's not really like them, or me, come to that, she's articulate and all there seems to be beyond Martin.I don't count Alex Belfield. Far too potty-mouthed. I'm obviously not in his demographic!
I'm sure the 7 million who have been internally displaced and the further 5 million who have left the country to seek protection agree with her deception. This includes personal friends and suppliers of mine, many of whom have lose decent work, in many cases viable businesses, and all of whom have had to start again from scratch.
There is a lot of money to be made in mistruth, and Katie IVA Hopkins isn't exactly rolling in it now, is she?💙💛 💔6 -

I'm going to refrain from replying to that because it really will upset the management.

This morning we tried the cheap 16p tin of spaghetti hoops on some toast for breakfast. Whilst I wouldn't have this on a regular basis, it's fine for an occasional quick, easy and cheap meal so I'll get a couple more for the pantry stock. I think next time I'll have to perk it up a bit with something like chilli powder. A bit of grated cheese or a poached egg on top would make it more substantial too without too much extra expense.
Another cheap item added to the shopping list is some tins of mushy peas. We prefer the boxes of dried peas that need to be soaked before cooking but once again the SMs I use (ie can get to) have stopped stocking them. All apart from the local Ni*a that is, but I refuse to pay £1.20 for a box when I know full well the going rate is around 60p.
My knitting needles are still churning out winter woollies to keep us warm and the yarn stash is going down as a result. I'm finding it very hard to not give in to temptation to buy more, especially when my yarn supplier sends emails about their latest reductions. I should probably not read the emails and just delete them!
We have plenty of throws but I'm going to try another one to use up all the small bits. I'm thinking crocheted granny squares but have to admit to not being brilliant at crochet even though I can knit and sew perfectly well. Ah well, I'm always up for a challenge!Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
