As always JackieO, you sound like a wonderful grandparent and I bet Christmas will be wonderful.
I make very basic grilles cheese on the frying pan (so not really grilled). Just find it's less mess this way and uses less energy. Butter the outside of the bread, lay slices of cheese inside, top with a slice of bread that has also been buttered on the outside, fry gently until cheese starts to melt, flip over to brown the other piece of bread. I often use cookie cutters to make shapes in the bread before buttering, like Christmas trees or Easter bunny's, sometimes just big stars. Found this enticed DD to eat one time when she was poorly and its stuck since. I dry off the crusts and blitz, and keep for other creations.February wins: Theatre tickets6 -

The road there leads to politics, and we all know how divided that route is.I also take your point about theories, conspiratorial or otherwise, and with a science background my view is they're working hypotheses. They stay as theories until supported by data, so someone else is fully entitled to hold different ones. There's plenty of data now, if not an overwhelming desire on the part of media to make some of it better known; hence a mismatch in what people may hold to be true. That also may lead to problems. However, discussions about theories isn't what this thread is about either.So, we're left with prepping and I've done that as much as I can. Currently I'm rebuilding my polytunnel wrecked by Eunice, chopping up firewood and supporting a couple of people who didn't do so well in the big giveaway....not as well as Am*z*n and co anyway....but there I go again....too much anger! It is a self-imposed abstention and hopefully I'll cool down eventually and pop in again.As dear Mr Grace used to say in that sit-com the BBC would never broadcast now: "Carry on everybody, you're all doing very well!" I mean that most sincerely folks....and not in the way Hughie Green used to say it, for those with long memories!10

The most important thing is you use plastic, OK, processed cheese slices. Real cheese just isn't right somehow.
In high school, because I wanted to become a Home Ec teacher I was required to do two cooking classes for the uni requirement. One involved quantity catering. So for a semester we had to work short shifts in the school cafeteria. I must have fried 3000 of those grilled cheese sandwiches. They were the cheapest lunch option.6 -
I can't eat cheese myself, but DD and DH both love it. They aren't fans of the processed slices though, so if I used that I think they might disown me haha. Does make a great, cheap lunch or dinner though 👍February wins: Theatre tickets4

We had tinned tomato soup with cheese on toast for lunch yesterday. I bought the hein3 soup for 10p per can as it was BBE july. Its ages since I had cheese on toast and I had forgotten how nice it was.3
