It included all the fish dishes on the menu.
The difficulty they have is that they wont know what they are getting until the delivery arrives and it cannot be rectified until the following delivery - hopefully. The staff are constantly being abused for it just the same as they were during lockdown over mask wearing.
No abuse given from us. Although it was very difficult as my mil had dementia and kept asking for scampi.
Although I'm sure there is a better way of saying no fish available until the waitress came to take the orders?
The employer knows abuse is likely, so what have they done to minimise the risk?
Note on the door perhaps, or a flyer in the menu, note of apology from the manager?
It shouldn't be left to your daughter part of the waiting staff to do the explaining on behalf of the restaurant chain, that is leaving them open to abuse.9 -

Divide and rule etc. with those at the bottom of the pile (and I don't mean that as any sort of insult) getting the sharp end. There's a brilliant (IMO) exposition of where we are by Katie Hopkins on the Tube entitled 'Not For Everyone....' I'm not linking to it in case I upset the management. In a previous life Katie used to upset me, but not any more. She goes a little further than Martin's recent rant about energy costs, the coming winter and what we might do about that. Not everyone will agree with her analysis, but that's fine. To get to the place where she is, and I am too, a lot of water has to pass under the bridge, most of it not via mainstream channels. There are very few Damascus Moments in real life. However, thinking around challenging commentators' words might just lead to one.

I am reminded at times of Jonesy in Dads Army saying "Don't Panic, Don't panic"
sadly an awful lot of people are suddenly getting their 'light bulb ' moment and starting to panic. But fingers crossed if we are all vigilant, and keep thinking of ways to streetch things out a bit we will survive this COL crisis.
With the amount of boom and bust situations in my long life I have become pretty adept and coping, as my late Mum did during WW2.Most of what I know about frugalling came from herbless her she could make five bob do the work of ten at times
So chin up chums and "Don't Panic "

KH is a nasty piece of work - she rightly got banned from Twitter and lost her job at LBC for unbridled bigotry. The last thing I heard about her was that she was facing bankruptcy after losing a libel case (with significant legal costs) to Jack Monroe, the cookery writer and anti-poverty campaigner.
I've recycled empty cans which have more meaning and purpose than her.

They deserve greater air time and they probably won't get it. Most people will say "Who's she?" whereas everyone knows Ms Hopkins. That's the problem!Anyway feel free to use the tin foil hat label as required. I won't be offended5

She lost me as soon as she got onto the Reset and Covid. Aimed at a certain demographic and I’m not it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.13 -

Now I consider I need to know much more. There's always more to know.As I said, Katie used to upset me. I wish there was less 'tarnished' communicator out there asking the right questions. Many people I know feel unrepresented and although she's not really like them, or me, come to that, she's articulate and all there seems to be beyond Martin.I don't count Alex Belfield. Far too potty-mouthed. I'm obviously not in his demographic!

Woolsery said...., but how many of these so-called 'theories' have you examined?
I would not be so rude as to apply a tin hat label to you but some of these theories are dangerous either- physically - don't get the jab because covid is a myth and Bill Gates will control you, or
- to democracy - Pizzagate etc.
I've just realised the truth about conspiracy theorys. The people promoting all the other conspiracy theories are being paid by a sinister secret cabal to undermine our faith in democracy. Then this shadowy group which is run by the Vatican and includes Jews and Bill Gates will take over the world and turn us into holiday-less, compliant sheep. Right, I'm going off to YouTube to make my fortune.10 -
marycanary said:Woolsery said...., but how many of these so-called 'theories' have you examined? Some great hyperbole in your post there! Have you an awareness of people like Professor Nornan Fenton, Prof Mike Yeadon or other people with reputations who've put their heads above the parapet? That's why I like Dr Clare mentioned earlier; there doesn't seem to be much in it for her. As a nerd with specs, I identify strongly.I think I ought to get at least some recognition for sitting through hours of Brett Weinstein and his wife Heather ruminating together in their shed. Admittedly, it's a posh shed, so they're probably minted and maybe I should take up shove ha'penny or something else more exciting. As someone trained in science, admittedly at a rather theoretical level, I realised early on there were stories not being told, but I wouldn't put it down to anything more than political expediency until evidence of an alternative explanation becomes conclusive. The truth will out......And on that note my data is an entire tub of Morrisons chick pea and potato dhal, not even near it's due date, for £1. Not bad for 1.6 kg of the stuff they normally fill their salad bar with. Someone must've misplaced a zero in their order to HQ. I've portioned it out and stuck it in the freezer.
