We took my inlaws out for Friday lunch to a well known chain b33feater and they didnt have any fish due to supply problems.
It included all the fish dishes on the menu.

The difficulty they have is that they wont know what they are getting until the delivery arrives and it cannot be rectified until the following delivery - hopefully. The staff are constantly being abused for it just the same as they were during lockdown over mask wearing.
It shouldn't be left to your daughter  part of the waiting staff  to do the explaining on behalf of the restaurant chain, that is leaving them open to abuse.
Ah, but it all helps with increasing the general feeling of frustration, anger and helplessness. Divide and rule etc. with those at the bottom of the pile  (and I don't mean that as any sort of insult) getting the sharp end.
There's a brilliant (IMO) exposition of where we are by Katie Hopkins on the Tube entitled  'Not For Everyone....' I'm not linking to it in case I upset the management.
In a previous life Katie used to upset me, but not any more. She goes a little further than Martin's recent rant about energy costs, the coming winter and what we might do about that. Not everyone will agree with her analysis, but that's fine. To get to the place where she is, and I am too, a lot of water has to pass under the bridge, most of it not via mainstream channels. There are very few Damascus Moments in real life. However, thinking around challenging commentators' words might just lead to one.

She lost me as soon as she got onto the Reset and Covid. Aimed at a certain demographic and I’m not it.
I wasn't in the 'demographic' that bothered about Ukraine's history last year. Now I consider I need to know much more. There's always more to know.
As I said, Katie used to upset me. I wish there was less 'tarnished' communicator out there asking the right questions. Many people I know feel unrepresented and although she's not really like them, or me, come to that, she's articulate and all there seems to be beyond Martin.
I don't count Alex Belfield. Far too potty-mouthed. I'm obviously not in his demographic! :D

...., but how many of these so-called 'theories' have you examined?

Lots actually. it's an area I have studied extensively.

Some great hyperbole in your post there! Have you an awareness of people like Professor Nornan Fenton, Prof Mike Yeadon or other people with reputations who've put their heads above the parapet? That's why I like Dr Clare mentioned earlier; there doesn't seem to be much in it for her. As a nerd with specs, I identify strongly.
I think I ought to get at least some recognition for sitting through hours of Brett Weinstein and his wife Heather ruminating together in their shed. Admittedly, it's a posh shed, so they're probably minted and maybe I should take up shove ha'penny or something else more exciting. :D
As someone trained in science, admittedly at a rather theoretical level, I realised early on there were stories not being told, but I wouldn't put it down to anything more than political expediency until evidence of an alternative explanation becomes conclusive. The truth will out.
.....And on that note my data is an entire tub of Morrisons chick pea and potato dhal, not even near it's due date, for £1. Not bad for 1.6 kg of the stuff they normally fill their salad bar with. Someone must've misplaced a zero in their order to HQ. I've portioned it out and stuck it in the freezer.
