Thanks all on that particular point.
I'm loathe to sign up to a smart meter install ATM, just moved over to Eon.next (well last October) as I was with Igloo previously.
Depending of course what occurs in April, currently on the capped rate with Eon we may jump elsewhere, a waiting and watching game.

I went into a new contract in august.

I had a call today from Cardif.

When I said I didn’t want a smart meter, he said I would be moved into another tariff and sent a letter.

I said the small print said I didn’t have to have one. (Twice)

i said phone me back in summer.

He said he would put me down as not wanting a smart meter.

But I’m still expecting a letter wanting  me to move tarriff trying to get their money back.

Anyone else had this and outcome ?

A recent letter said I had accepted to have a call about a smart meter
Just accept the meters it won't affect how much energy you use, it might make you save some energy, the IHD is just a gimmick that's of little use except to tell you how much electric and gas you're using and how fast it's being used. Mine got water damaged in December 2015. It never really worked well as it constantly said pairing and was like it for days on end before working for a few days then starting all over again.

The suppliers sometime try it on saying the meter you have is not reading correctly or some other !!!!!! a friend keeps getting letters and calls from EDF to have one installed and one caller said his meter was showing incorrect readings to which he replied my readings are around the same as they were in 1983 and every month he has had no problem with the readings!
He uses around 160 kWh electric per month and 11 kWh summer & 300 kWh winter gas per month.
Someone please tell me what money is
