There is an option to change your network provider. Maybe use web browser rather than the app? Can’t remember where it was but I changed mine from EE to Giffgaff and had ported my number.

Yes. It means a shorter cash out time for some retailers. Plus you can cash out when your reach £5 rather than £10. It also theoretically automatically pays out on debit transactions from the accounts you have linked, that part is hit and miss. Ironically it is O2 that often doesn’t pay out for me.
