  • Hi,
they can only charge you for what you've used from last bill, my last bill from them was 10th August, but I know how much credit I am due.

The one thing that can introduce a surprise is the estimated final reading, as there have been a lot of examples of some very imaginative estimates from the recent failed suppliers.
Do think carefully about challenging those estimates though, as an excessive reading from the failed supplier usually results in a lower bill overall as the failed supplier rates are going to be cheaper than the SoLR. So as long as the SoLR uses the same reading for your new account you may be better off not fighting it...
  • Hi,
I'm happy as long as start reading from new supplier is same as final reading from old supplier.

My son is in a similar position. His electricity was confirmed quickly but he still hasn't got a gas account confirmed. It has been nigh on impossible to make contact with BG.  His PFP bill was paid  up but there was no reference to a meter reading so have to trust what they have said.  It is all a nightmare.  They have just had a smart meter installed but only for the electricity - this was done in the hope that BG would realise that they also have a gas account. It really is a hopeless situation especially with the fast rising costs.
