    Hardly a surprise, is it?

The 52% are reaping what they have sown.

    Give it a rest please!
    Give what a rest?

Let me guess, you fell for the bus thing  did you?

I'm merely point out the inconvenient truth as to why Three, and other operators, have been able to bin free roaming. If the 52% can't accept that they were duped, thats their problem.

    Nothing to do with Brexit.

Three were offering roaming in the EU and a number of other countries long before the EU mandated it.

So why did they suddenly get rid of it (including the countries that were outside the EU) when they were happy to foot the bill for years before?

Probably because most people would rather have a bigger data allowance than free roaming in a country they'll visit for a couple of weeks and can buy a cheap PAYG SIM to use while they're there.
Three introduced very limited free roaming as long ago as 2009 for customers who used Three networks in foreign countries (Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy and Sweden).  This was relaunched in 2013 as "Feel at Home" and did add a few more countries over the years, but again it was limited to where H3G operated and the roaming had to be on Three or the sister H3G network.

They expanded free roaming to the whole of the EU in September 2016, 9 months ahead of the EU mandated date in June 2017.

Obviously just coincidence that Three introduced true free EU roaming 9 months before the law said they had to, and that they're now ending that service now the the law has gone.

    🤣🤣🤣

Many people clearly cant accept they were duped.
Something about taking back control. 18 mile queues at Dover at the moment, is that part of taking part control too?

Isn't the queue due to a ferry being out of commission? Not sure that has anything to do with the bee in your bonnet!

  • To be fair, the minion running the Twitter account isnt the CEO and/or the shareholders who have to balance the books.

As I said, people voted for this. Reap what you sow.

Best deal they have is 5GB, unlimited mins and text, When aboard 120 mins/text a day and unlimited data (slowed down which is what i need).  £6

i get 12GB, unlimited text and mins with 3 for £8.11 but rarely go over 2gb!

Seems i am not the only one leaving 3, a few of my friends are :(

We use 1pmobile, still free (ie no surcharge) for roaming in the EU.

If you're still happy with paying £8 a month then you can get Unltd Mins/Texts and 15GB data with O2.  you have to go via uSwitch or MoneySupermarket comparison sites though, it isn't available direct on the O2 website.

Depends if you want the extra data that you don't use or the £2 month saving!
