I just had a look on the health form and it doesn't appear to have a "reason for travel" question? Am I missing something? maybe there are more fields to complete after you press send?
I am completing mine currently (within 48 hours of arrival - you won't be able to fully complete till then)
It asks for reason for travel - when select 'tourism' the next step is to provide your proof of vaccine.
  • Okay thanks. Need to find what questions are asked if you select "family reasons"...
  • Are you actually going for "family reasons" or are you trying to find a loophole? Do they actually ask for proof when you get there? Seems very open to abuse if not.

They ask for evidence on the form and when you get there.
  • Fair enough.

I also wondered if I would be asked to show proof of visiting family, but I wasn't.
So yes, I guess this could be a loophole.

Also, I was asked for proof of recovery certificate - before travelling I registered with the NHS Covid status service (https://covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk/), which gave me access to all my Covid records. I downloaded a PDF showing proof of positive Covid test, I think this contains a QR code, and that was checked at Malaga airport.
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

Sounds like it could be open to abuse Emma, which is good as it's a ridiculous rule. In answer to your question, yes I am going for family reasons. I have recently married an english girl who is a Spanish resident. She lives in Spain and I live in the UK and I'd like to go and live with her. Because she is a Spanish resident I'm eligible for residency myself, but I have to get to Spain in order to apply for it.

I wonder how they would deal with someone who didnt even have a recovery cert though.

You need a negative PCR test from within 72 hours prior to travel or an antigen test from 48hrs prior.
  • Difficult situation BUT another example of why getting jabbed makes these issues go away.....
Careful - you’ll attract all the ‘it’s not tested / Bill Gates will take over my mind / it’s all because of 5G’ nut jobs!
This is nonsense, I'm triple jabbed and my 5G reception of rubbish!
