Renewing (Plusnet) Broadband and Telephone contract

My contract due in April. A couple of weeks ago I received email with my options. I paid £22.99 per month and they offered the same price for 18 month.
I rang them and got £20.20 for 2 years. At least when it goes up in April I won't be worse off1 -
That's good, luvchocolate. If they send me an email, and if they then offered me £20.20 for two years, I would be really pleased to accept. IF I thought I could telephone now, and ask if I could have the same offer as 'luvchocolate' of £20.20 for two years, I would 'try' and would be glad to accept it. It would help to know that at least one bill was 'sorted' for two years.
(The energy increase is going to be really difficult for so many of us - especially in winter.)
Glad you got a good offer, luvchocolate and thanks for letting me know.

Update this morning. I telephoned Plusnet and, after quite a long conversation, I am very pleased indeed to be offered a Fixed Price 24 month Broadband and Line Rental renewal. With my 'Referrals' discount it works out a bit less than luvchocolate's monthly amount although, of course, if one of my referrals leaves Plusnet I, understandably, lose that discount. The bill will go up by inflation plus 3.9% so that could be about 9% (probably every April) but, even taking that into account, I am very pleased with the renewal offer I have been given by Plusnet today.Thank you again for all the replies.CrimsonP.S. I did not mention your name or your offer, luvchocolate!2

This is a bit of a concern regarding my Plusnet Contract - agreed verbally in January.I checked again when I noticed that my Bill had unexpectedly increased quite a bit this month - it has been fine until now. In January I was offered a Fixed Price 24 month contract to increase by inflation and cpi annually (about 9%) and I was really pleased with the contract which was offered verbally and I agreed to by telephone. When I contacted Plusnet to ask about it it seems that they now think I do not have a Fixed Price Contract at all. Having 'double checked' I am sure I was offered a Fixed Price 24 month contract with effect from February 2022.They are going to listen into the call and get back to me and I'll be able to check it against my record as necessary. I tried to add further information but the links* in the email Plusnet sent today did not work and the link to the Open Question did not allow me to respond or add further information to it. "
*"Email: http://contactus.plus.net or Respond using the link in the email received today to review the question".
I would feel very let down if Plusnet are not going to honour the agreement given in January. The agreement will be clear if they listen to the recorded call. What would my options be if Plusnet do not honour the contract? I suspect I would have to complain then find a different Provider.
Has this happened to anyone else?

In January I was offered a Fixed Price 24 month contract to increase by inflation and cpi annually (about 9%)
Did they say when this anual increase would take place?you should have an email with the terms and conditions,as far as i know in plusnet land the anual increases occur each april

The inflation/cpi increase is effective from 1st April as is the unexpected increase in the telephone/broadband contract. The only increase over the 24 months fixed contract was the cpi/ inflztion annually. No othervincrease was referred to or expected.
I relied on the verbal offer (it has been recorded by Plusnet and I have kept my own record too).and did not expect that the confirmatory email in January would be any different. I can read it again although it was the verbal contract I agreed to - the annual cpi/inflation which is about 9% at present.
Thank you - I am grateful for any opinions.Crimson

If I stay with Plusnet, and they do not honour the fixed contract price, I'll be much worse off.

This post is long but I'll be grateful for anyone reading it:I copied this this morning from the email received following the verbal acceptance in January, Richard_T_T:
Thank you for your call today. Please keep a copy of this e-mail for your records. As discussed, Ive made the following changes to your Plusnet service:
Thank you for your call today. Please keep a copy of this e-mail for
your records. As discussed, Iâve made the following changes to your Plusnet service: A breakdown of your monthly bill is as follows: Unlimited broadband service: £ 0.00 per month for 24 months then £11.66 per month Line rental: Monthly Line rental £17.99 Evening and Weekends Call plan: £0.00 per month Total £17.99 per month for 24 months on a new 24 month contract ( Your line rental
saver will expire in April - because of this, up until April your direct debit
will be £0.00) A list of our call tariffs can be found here: https://www.plus.net/help/legal/residential-phone-tariffs/ Your order is subject to Plusnetâs Terms and Conditions
and Acceptable Use Policy. Please ensure you read and understand them as
soon as you can. We may make changes to prices, content and terms at any
time during your contract. We'll tell you about important changes before
they happen and if a change is detrimental you'll be able to end your c
ontract without any fees.I am now very concerned in case the bottom paragraph means that the verbal agreement that my contract was fixed at £17.99 per month is invalidadated because of this. The only verbal mention of any increase during the fixed contract was the cpi/inflation (which I understood was about 9%) sometime after 31 March 2022.IF this is the case (and it may not be because I won't know until Plusnet have listened into the telephone call) I would believe that I had been mislead. I would not want this contract at all.According to my April bill my monthly direct debit payment is increasing (not including the inflation/cpi approximate 9%) from £17.99 to £23.19. The payment for this bill is pending at present. I would never have agreed to this: An increase of £5.20 every month for line rental alone in addition to the cpi/inflation. I was never warned about this when I agreed to the new fixed contract by telephone although I see that the word 'Fixed' is not included in the email although it was clear when I accepted the contract verbally.I'll be really grateful to hear what anyone thinks because I am worried about it, upset and I had no expectation at all, during the telephone call, that this would be allowed.I'll appreciate all your opinions, please.Crimson0 -
