Hello all
Back in June 2019 mine and my partners vehicles parked in a buzz bingo car park, long story short both vehicles went over the 2hrs time

my partner has now received a letter from the courts asking for £511.50 for her vehicle

as we have read the claim it turns out there are two pcn claims on her summons.

on one of these occasions she was only in the car park for 45 minutes , well within the 2hr time

I am not at a loss what to do , I was wondering if we could fight it or come to some settlement. If

A letter from the courts asking for money? How strange.

    What exactly is this 'letter'?
Is it perhaps a County Court Claim Form?
If so, please tell us the Issue Date on it.

    There is no summons.

Is this at Buzz Bingo in Brighton?

So a claim form from the CCBC in Northampton , not a summons

Do the AOS online , after reading the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements , Fifth post first and then the second post

Email a SAR to the DPO at the PPC ( which parking company ? Parking Eye ? ( None called parking view )

Seems too much for 2 £100 PCNs plus court and the legal fees , say £320

Sounds more like CEL or UKPC or Highview Parking

...it’s a claim form. It was issued on the 12th of Jan but we only got it Monday

With a Claim Issue Date of 12th January, you have until Monday 31st January to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an AoS in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 14th February 2022 to file your Defence.
That's nearly four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Everywhere I have written 'you' or 'your' I do of course mean the named Defendant.
  • Yeah that is correct , Northampton

Parking view ? Or Parking Eye Chorley ?

Yes you would , but providing you pay it in full within the 30 days grace period allowed it will be expunged and won't affect your credit rating

The judge would decide on the final figure , probably less than the claimed amount
