Together Energy, including its subsidiary Bristol Energy, has ceased trading. In total, the two brands have about 176,000 household customers between them. If you're affected, your supply will continue and credit balances are protected. While it's likely you'll pay more now, there are no savings to be had by switching.

Don't do it. You will not find a cheaper tariff than the one you'll be moved on to with SoLR and you will experience a (likely lengthy) delay in getting your credit back compared to if you transfer over.

Do stop your direct debit unless you will use more than £400 (at energy cap prices) worth of energy in the next 6 weeks.
  • I'm with BSE and in credit. However my mother who passed away last August was also with them and I have been trying to sort out an issue with them since last July. She was £649 in credit but because she had to have a new meter there was a problem. I made a complaint, contacted customer services and last week emailed the CEO but heard nothing from any of them. What do I do? my mother's account will have been closed. But they did set up a new one, the property has been sold and they were advised of this on 15 December. Where do I stand?
  • I am,  or was in dispute with together energy over an outstanding debt which they claim was over £3000 I was told it should have been updated when a new system was put in place. I was waiting to hear back - all communication was over the phone so I don’t have any written evidence- what can I do?? Chris

That will be a matter for the administrators of Together (assuming they go into administration).
If the matter was 'ongoing', say a faulty meter for example, then the SoLR would deal with that once they are appointed.
Do make sure you have a meter reading for the date of the hand-over though, so you get a clean start with the SoLR.

At least Together Energy customers know where they stand - at the back of a very long queue of outstanding SoLR account transfers :/

Now, Now. Lets look on the bright side. At least its not SP.

I think I'll bang off today's meter readings to BE.

After 10 minutes trying to log in I've concluded BE's website is down.

Maybe Together Energy and Bristol Energy customers should try and jump on to the British Gas Zero Fix October 22 tariff.
