In regards to the telephone password, you can give them a call to set it to something you want to use, and you can get your online banking sorted out early. They are very helpful and quick to answer the phone.

As for the date of birth, the year will be the last two of the four digits. It's an alternate form of the shorthand format.

Can somebody please tell me how a physical secure key works when accessing your account with First Direct?
They are sending me one. I don't have a smartphone, so am unable to download a digital secure key.
I feel such a dinosaur, it seemed so much easier opening a bank account in the past.

They send you a dinky little code generator device like a tiny calculator. Eventually ..... Last time I had their account it took weeks

I've got fingers crossed that wont happen. But if it did, presumably it could be weeks before I could view my account online?
