Hi you can go through an agent Miss,, but have a guarantor, with a good Credit History ..
maybe your Mum , dad, good freind .. They basicly will sign to say that if you dont pay your rent , they will.. Its a big responsibility.. But posible, if you know someonethat trusts you ..

Agents will do a credit check however some landlords will put less emphasis on them if your other things are strong. That would be good job and good references from a previous landlord.

Other way is to find landlords yourself. Is there anything like Loot in Reading or have you looked on Gumtree?

i cant have a guarantor either cos my parents are retired and my friends wont do it..... i have good job 25k and been there 3 years+ however bf reloacated to be with me and is thus unemployed which i think is going against us. Have tried gumtree but the landlords keep choosing to rent ot couple other than this even though we are interested.

we have rent and deposit ready and waiting can get refernces from my work and landlady no probs. constantly looking on gumtree and newspapers etc but there seems to be more people then there are houses

If you're earning £25k then that would say to me you work in a large company.
Have you put a notice up at work? And asked around? Or if there are any intranet bulletin pages available?

Can you not do it in your name for now and add the BF to the paperwork when he gets a job.

I have asked around..... i do work for a large company but most of the people dont use the computers or intranet as i would as the do not need one for there job. I could put it in my name but still my credit history goes against me .... i have the money and he has the perfect credit history.
