All the more reason to use my phone more and more!
No need to see these crazy designs.

The Chase one is good.  Plain.

I wonder if they'll change the "long card number" too - it doesn't need to be long any more, they can just put it in a list of each set of 4 numbers.
And get rid of the "security code" too - I don't see the point in that.
Years ago NatWest used to give the option of choosing (at a charge) for a variety of designs including (from memory) a kingfisher and butterflies ... a bit naff but at least you could stand out from the crowd!

Thank you - looks similar to my Expresscash one!

When I upgrade that to a reward account next month, I wonder what they’ll do - leave me with my old card for convenience, replace the card to be accurate and not state expresscash

When I upgraded from classic current account to Reward account, they didn't send me a new card.

Similarly, when I downgraded from Ultimate account to classic account, I kept using the Ultimate debit card.

Can anybody fathom out what Ulster's picture's meant to be? I think it's a puffin at the bottom and some sort of building on the far left but can't work out what the rest is.

I think it depends on how long the card has left on it. When I upgraded my first Halifax account into a reward account I had around 6 months left on the card and they sent a new one. When I converted my Lloyds account to a Club Lloyds a few months after opening it they never bothered to change the card.

    A brand new look

To mark our transition from Visa to Debit Mastercard, we’ve designed a new Ulster Bank card that portrays a modern Northern Ireland. The fresh new, vertical design means all the usual card info is now on the back.

We worked with local street artist Danni Simpson who, looking for inspiration, put one question to her thousands of followers on Instagram: What makes Northern Ireland so special? The result is a wonderfully detailed graphic mural that marries iconic landmarks and rich history with contemporary life. Our card designs each feature a different section of this amazing illustration.

There is a hippo just under the middle right - apparently used to be their mascot ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-tjlw4F6ig

A clumsy copy paste job on the ulster link - https://www.ulsterbank.co.uk/current-accounts/manage-your-current-account/new-mastercard.html

In the FAQ section, the first one 'I thought Mastercard was a debit card':

'Whilst Mastercard is also known for credit cards, this is your replacement NatWest debit card. It works in the same way as your previous debit card, and can be used around the world wherever you see the Mastercard symbol.

I much prefer the new style cards with flat details on the reverse. Old school embossed numbers on the front are a throwback to the old zip zap carbon copy card contraptions.

I've forgotten about those!  It must have been early 90s?  Did you also have one of the NW chequebooks with designs?  I had the field mouse one.  You had to make the joke "Here's a cheque, we're poor as church mice" every time you wrote one.
