Advice on buying a car? Kia Rio, Dacia or a MG?

Is there much difference between a Darcia Engine 999 cc and a Kia Rio Engine 1197 cc? Its mainly a city car but lots of short trips on the motorway with occasional longer drives on the motorway. So was worried the Darcia Engine 999 cc would not cope as well as a Kia Rio Engine 1197 cc for what I need it for?

I am getting worried now as the Rio I completed an order pack with Arnold Clark on 31/12/2021 and since the PCP fell though I can not afford to pay for it in one go so thats why I am looking at other cars.
But I am worried I am tied into the Rio?
Or if I can cancel it and how?But I am worried I am tied into the Rio? Only signed the order form via email, never seen car, nop deposit paid , never been to the dealership, all over email and phone, car arrived at dealership ready to collect from Monday this week. The contract says :"2 (b) if we fail to deliver the vehicle within 30 days of the estimated delivery date""4 (a) you may cancel at anytime prior to inspecting the vehicle and we will refund any customer contribution or reservation fee back to you within 7 days. (b) except in the event of cancelation in terms of clauses 2(b) or 4(a), this agreement may only be canceled or unwound with our written consent. In the event that this agreement is unwound you must repay any cash back to us. Where the settlement figure excluded the part exchange value, you must pay us the difference (b) except in the event of cancelation in terms of 2(b) or 4(a) this agreement may only be canceled or unwound with our written consent. I am not bothered about how powerful the car is, wether the clutch judders etc .... just wanting to know if the 1.0 Sandero cylinder turbo is more likely to have issues or break than a 1.2 ... 4 cylinder?
I had a peugeot disael and the turbo basically expolded and caused £2,000 of damage. Does the Dacia Sandero 1.0 have a turbo that could also do the same and would it be covered under warranty? I see it has a TURBO INJECTION

The TCe 100 is a 3 cylinder turbo.
It's a Renualt/Nissan/Mitsubishi Alliance engine, so crops up in all sorts of cars from those manufacturers since around 2012.
It's an uprated version of the TCe 90 that Renault and Nissan have been using for years without to much trouble.
I've ran a few 90's in either Renaults or Dacias other the years and for me they have been totally reliable and dirt cheap run and service.
In fact I'm still running a TCe now though the 4 cylinder 130 version in a Clio, I would have gone for the TCe 100 if they had fitted that with a DCT though.
They do have the typical 3 cylinder warble and can feel/sound a bit strummy, particularly when started and pulling away from cold compared to the naturally smoother 4 cylinder engines, but you get that with all 3 pot engines.
Renault warranty their cars for 5 years these days though Dacia only 3 years.
I've did own an older model Sandero TCe 90 and had the new Sandero on loan while my Clio was in for service and the newer car is far far better than the older car and it did make my winch that I paid so much for my Clio when the new Sandero isn't as far behind as it was once.
Ok, it is built to a budget but they have gone miles further hiding it than they ever did with the older Sandero.
If LPG is readily available to you locally, it should be on the top of your list.
If seems pretty incredible, but Dacias tend to depreciate a little slower than some of their competition.0 -
We had a smart with the Renault 0.9 turbo engine, the turbo managed about 15,000 before giving up the ghost and took weeks to be repaired.
Despite this being our third small petrol turbo I now avoid them as for our needs a turbo simply isn't needed.
A normally aspirated 1.5 does the job and if you can find a last of the old model 1.5 Yaris, which will be 2.5-3 years old it will have a warranty to 10 years old.

OR, is this a thread about cancelling a car order?blackstar said:I am getting worried now as the Rio I completed an order pack with Arnold Clark on 31/12/2021 and since the PCP fell though I can not afford to pay for it in one go so thats why I am looking at other cars.

With regard to cancelling the order, have you spoken to the Dealership about finance? They often have more than one source available.
From a cancellation point of view, is this all a remote purchase? If so and CCR apply, then you have the right to cancel from order placement up to 14 days following delivery. Would the collection be merely "click-and-collect"?0 -

I'd be going for the Bi-Fuel for the extra BHP if nothing else, then just make a point of filling up on LPG as and when i could.
Good point, I thought the extra power was a quirk of the LPG side, but it seems it's a more powerful petrol engine at the same time.
