Some solicitors confirm the 30 day hold, some don't bother.  Use the 30 days to carry out research and prepare a defence (just in case!).

Read the 12 numbered steps in the defence template post by coupon mad at the top of the forum in announcements , those are the next steps , in order
  • Hiya, I have received the SAR from GroupNexus. What are the nest steps/ information to draw from this? Would it be good to show you all the info they have? Thanks!

You use the info from your SAR to help with your defence (unless already submitted) and your witness statement.

Look for any failures , errors , anything that assists your case and rubbishes theirs , so check for POFA compliance and BPA CoP failures etc too ( c p plus always fail to comply with POFA )
  • Thank you, is there anywhere I can look up what these failures or errors may be or anyone that is more savvy that could look at these? I wouldn't have a clue where to start!

Post one in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements

The BPA website for the CoP

POFA and the CRA can be easily found in a Google search
  • Thank you, I'm just looking though all this and previous decisions. Do you think I should go down a "parking charge does not reflect any loss caused" and that these charges are most certainly a penalty and moreover a penalty that turns a profit? The initial charge was 60 - it is now £170. I'll be going down to the site this evening to check out the signage in the dark, as all they have provided is a digital version of what looks like a generic parking sign. Am I able to share these letters with anyone to get a second opinion? I understand these are difficult to answer without looking into the SAR etc more.

Absolutely not.  You need to read the NEWBIES thread and get to grips with what NOT to argue as well as what works.

Did you see all the threads (and national news) this week about the new statutory Code of Practice?

Read bargepole's new thread from Monday and read the Government's new Code itself, plus the Explanatory/Impact document.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I got the information from here, the very top thread titled POPLA Decisions, and posted that after reading the successful appeals. However I see that this is not necessarily relevant  No, I have not seen the new statutory Code of Practice. I was under the impression that experts here are, very kindly, giving this information and support to people such as ourselves who have never done this before and find it very overwhelming. I am very thankful for any help given, however a little less of the stick and more of the positives would be great. I work very long hours so being able to read all the new threads and keep up to date with 'Codes of Practice' is hard and very overwhelming. I will read bargepole's thread now.
