Do you know somebody who already has broadband with BT? If you were to hypothetically tell BT that you were moving to that address then technically they would waive the cancellation fee.

But the fee will apply unless a NEW account is taken out .

We were in the same position recently. Tied into BT for a 2 year contract but a new FTTP provider laid fibre cables in our road and promised 1GB/s up and download speeds. We moved to them for £40 a month and took the £300 termination fee on the chin because for us, it's worth it. You just need to suck it up, I'm afraid.
