I think the "normal" readings are coming from the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Authority), they've been getting the info from automatic transmissions direct from Chernobyl. I think I've also seen headlines about them monitoring it independently from satellites. But I agree in that we can't expect Russia to tell the truth about any of it, the stuff on today's headlines from the conference in Antalya was insane. And yes to more background radiation also.Alchemilla said:
I have no evidence for this but I don't believe "emissions are normal" coming from Putin's government and nor do I believe that increased levels of radiation around Chernobyl won't have an impact elsewhere in Europe. My opinion is that we have all been subjected to increased background radiation which might have a long term impact on young folk.greent said:Ooh @badmemory - are you local to FoD? Haven't read anything about radiation... off to check that out...
The miso blog was extremely well researched, I'd not come across that whole blog before, thank you!
Your leccy fix looks terrible! I've now had the information, from Scottish Power, I need to work out myself what the change would be, they've said what it is but it seems a bit low.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Reasonably pleased with self today. Ate the frog of the leccy bill. Put a second coat on the wall around the aga. Got out a clock to go above the aga, which I got my Dad to fix. What @foxgloves calls "shopping from home". Promenaded the puppies and got my eyebrows and lashes done with my spends for the month.
At school run I saw someone I taught with in 2004, amazed we recognised each other! We both left that school because they wouldn't let us go part-time after maternity leave. Silly twits.6 -

Ooh I lost a day.
Nothing doing here except had to buy logs to keep warm since our boiler hasn't been replaced yet.

Woah, that's not good! But I'm glad you have the ability to burn logs and stay toasty
