Me too!  When will we move on from this rubbish.  I guess only when rich men stop having all the power.  Maybe in another 100 years & doesn't that sound depressing.
It IS depressing. Sadly living in a patriarchy taints the attitudes of us all, not just the men.

Yikes.  I'm also concerned about the miso paste and misreporting of background radiation?  Do you have anything you could share about sources, Alchemilla?
Miso paste, there is some research quoted on The Prepared website blog. I'll come back in a bit with it.

No superpowers from Miso but it probably won't hurt!

Ooh @badmemory - are you local to FoD? (Says the Gloucester person...) 😁

Haven't read anything about radiation... off to check that out...
I have no evidence for this but I don't believe "emissions are normal" coming from Putin's government and nor do I believe that increased levels of radiation around Chernobyl won't have an impact elsewhere in Europe. My opinion is that we have all been subjected to increased background radiation which might have a long term impact on young folk.

Sorry to hear about dd2. Does she need some time out at home?
It doesn't help in her case. She feels guilty, worries about getting behind and being out of routine messes her up, however much she dislikes the routine. xxx

    HI Alchemilla

Sorry DD2 is struggling. I often wonder how different our lives would have been if my little family had all been diagnosed early (never mind the extended family pointing fingers and living in denial). I do sometimes think though I would have just swapped problems. Hopefully things will pick up for her. It's a difficult time for all of you and it sounds like you've had various health scares between you all with all the change and uncertainty that represents. Not surprising if things are difficult. The surprise party was probably also exhausting for someone with ASD... and she may just need recuperation time. Sorry if I'm preaching to the choir...
Thanks, you make a good point about the party. She coped really well (and knew in advance) but it took me days to recover so I expect you're dead right.

@Alchemilla - maybe it's time for a LBM? I thought I was LBM proof these days, but had a fairly major one last year!

We also loved Maid (and you have terrified me re. radiation) :p Think I'll make some "proper" miso soup for lunch (got seaweed, katsuobushi and everything)
