Glad DH is home and enjoying plentiful soup by the sound of it!I love grooming but not so much at this time of year if they’ve got long hair with mud dreadlocks
Make sure you don’t see your time off as a chance to get loads of jobs done. Try and make some time to slow down a bit if possible. I’m not speaking as someone who is very good at this myself…MFW diary Adventures and Overpayments

This is her rug, @Watty1 do you think this is fixable?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
From a completely uninvolved and ignorant perspective, it looks a very clean tear, as long as you don't mind a reminder of it, as Watty says about the patch.
Loving the sound of your soup - and I too have mistaken the day or the date for whole days at a time. Including the wrong Tuesday to roll out the green bin for collection2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

hi Al - glad DH is home. And our relative may now have a date for their op - i am trying to just focus on looking forward to the relief of having it done and them home (positive thinking) but at the moment it's just a possible date. 100 mile round trips here we come! I know it's not the same but i'm reading your pages thinking this is where we'll be x months down the line - relieved not to be doing that long journey regularly (and daily when they're in - for a week at least).
Re your plans for your days before your new job - i know you have lots going on - family - DH, children, animal family, wider family and the support you give to them all. I agree with SH about factoring something in just for you. I'd also suggest if there's any small achievable jobs you've wanted to do about the home getting them done - nothing drastic but things you can do - like you did with the fish tank - i'd maybe plan 1 thing or 30 minutes a day as it should be easier doing these things before you start your new job x1st May 2025

@StripeyTightsSpottySocks what a thoughtful post, thank you. I don't envy you the 100 mile round trips. Take water! Hospitals are very dehydrating.
Thank you @savingholmes xxx
So got DH to finally SORN his car (had to pay for a new V5, stupid tax, literally and metaphorically!).
Promenaded the puppies then took a trip to recycle shop to drop some stuff off. Two disappointments, one - our favourite manager has left and moved to Wales and two - they wouldn't take the fishtank. Dropped it off at the little shop bit by the tip though so all good.
Work have sent me some more computer equipment, not sure what yet.
I would like to get some more space cleared in the kitchen. I am slowed down a bit because Daughterofsatan keeps jumping the stile to go in the field and eat horse apples. Then she goes walkies. Well named!7 -
@Alchemilla - is Daughterofsatan a) a person b) a dog c) a horse? I have to say it confuses me
Aquariums are difficult to get rid of, next to no resale value and people often give them away. I sold a beautiful customer aquarium (really well made, quite unusual) for about £200 when it had cost £1,000 new. It was such a good deal for the purchaser that he was able to pay a man with a van to drive from Wales and back to collect it and still saved a fortune vs. new!

OOOh how exciting they've started sending you shiny new work equipment already.
I want a new laptop, but as this is my 2nd one in 5 years I'm not holding my breath. I wouldn't mind but they took a brilliant one and replaced them all with tiny screens. Still annoys me.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
