Oh KK, what a night! So pleased Mr KK is finally rid of those pesky stones, but sorry that it took another trip to A&E. Bet you're both relieved!2

Glad that it’s sorted but having had a similiar experience in a and e with my dad I feel your pain2

What a nightmare way to tackle it but oh, what a relief to finally be done with it. I do hope he is not one to get a recurrence!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

Thanks all. Back home now having collected him. I’m taking some time out before heading into work for lunch and then I have one or two things I must get done this afternoon. Very tired, but can’t do what I need to do from here anyway and I don’t have my laptop.Suffolk_lass said:What a nightmare way to tackle it but oh, what a relief to finally be done with it. From what my former lodger told me, they do that so that any further crystals or other stone forming deposits in the bladder and urinary tract can pass without building up again.
He must make sure he drinks enough (10 drinks of water/tea/coffee every day) and not just water - I believe adding a little lemon juice and generally a lower salt intake is recommended as the top three things. Then it gets slightly more complicated, with less meat, and avoiding certain oxalate rich vegetables (rhubarb, parsley, spinach, and beets) and snacking on calcium and magnesium rich foods. The upside is that dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds are all great subs for spinach!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. Less meat ….? 😂😂😂😂😂
You’ve not met Mr KK have you ….? However, on the plus side he sees spinach as pond swamp and very rarely eats rhubarb or beetroot. He doesn’t like dark chocolate and thinks pumpkin and chia seeds is stuff you feed to poultry …. 😉
He has promised to drink (non alcoholic!) fluids more, a lot more! I also wonder if this another after-effect of covid as he started getting kidney infections after covid and one became really entrenched. He’d not been to the doctor for 17 years before that!KKAs at 15.12.25:

Mr KK has removed the stent himself today! 😳😂 He couldn’t take any more of it.I am working from home tomorrow so no commute and then I am on leave until Tuesday after Easter Monday - 10 days of no commute … bliss … ❤️
Very tired but have managed to do a couple of rows on my lap blanket and hope to get a couple more done tonight 😊
NSD for me today and Mr KK wants to find out how he can make his own cottage pies … 👏😊

I did work from home yesterday although technically I probably shouldn’t have as Mr KK’s stent was already dealt with, but tbh I am glad I did. I was so tired I could hardly think yesterday and ended up having a ‘nana-nap’ after lunch and still slept properly last night.Having a slow start as the weather here is soggy!! Misty and raining …. The birds are still singing and the pheasants are still honking though 😊I want to do some cleaning today, so it stops ‘looking at me’ and then when the weather improves over the next three days 🤞I can go and play in the garden with a clear conscience 😊
I have worked my way through HFW’s Lots More Veg and picked out a load of recipes I either want to revisit or retry, over the next week. They won’t all get done in the next week as I need some downtime and some gardening time! 😊 But they are ideas to take forward over the next few weeks.
Mr KK is busy pulling items together for a sale called the Dallas Dig Out - not sure if the funds from that will become house improvements or OPs but I am just so glad to see some of this bulky, unused, unlooked at collection leaving!KKAs at 15.12.25:

Double spun the towels and they are in the tumble (the only load that defaults to the tumble) the rest I will wait till tomorrow or Monday to wash as the forecast is a lot more promising for line drying.KKAs at 15.12.25:

Toilet and bathroom cleaned and I am now as flat as a pancake. I’m hoping I start to recover soon.Other small win: months ago, I had an issue with a B&H pump hand soap not working. I wrote to complain but they never got back to me 🙄 The scrag end of the soap that I had decanted into a squeezy sauce bottle has been hanging around for a long time - I have finally upended it over a small funnel and the almost empty current soap bottle. Two useless pump action mechanisms binned and a clear plastic bottle recycled.KKAs at 15.12.25:
