You could put her in a harness and have a walk about the garden on a leash?

I suspect the twitching leg is just it reminding her not to stretch it.

I have one that would enjoy the excuse to lie on my bed all day, and another who would probably hide. Both, however, would attempt to break out rather than use the litter tray. I still have trays for emergencies as the cat flap is locked overnight, but they've only been used once in the last 6 months (due to me ignoring an urgent early-morning request for the door to be opened).

You could also try covering the cat flap.  When mine is confined to quarters I put a box or something easily moveable (by humans) in front of it so its not an option to try and paw at it.  Mine also hates being in, but needs must sometimes.  Glad she is recovering and hope you are both getting over it all too.
