I made piccalilli once. Mine was with green beans rather than courgettes - it came out so well and wasn’t that difficult 😊 I think it might have been a D3lia recipe?Watty1 said:Just catching up (glorious tapestry). Love the self sufficiency milestones, celebratory steps.
It reminded me of a long ago allotment produce and how I gave a lot away on the walk home. A boyfriend looked and said he wanted to use the cauliflower bean and courgette glut to make piccalilli. I've never liked shop bought piccalilli but that stuff was so yummy. I had so many jars of it I gave it away that summer but it was so yummy I think I might try making my own later this year.
Thank you 😊debtfreewannabe321 said:Loving your posts KK and you sound so much happier at work now 🥰
That tapestry is huge! What will you do with it once it's completed?
We've had the smallest amount of snow here and most of it has rained off roofs and fences now. Rain still continues...
Is it huge? You should see the size of some of the ones they offer - full wall hanging size! 🤩😂
Not sure what I will do with it 🤷♀️ I have several finished ones sculling about in drawers I have never done anything with …. This one is coming out so well that I might try and do something with it this time. The kit does come with reasonable instructions on how to make it into a cushion, so I might do that 😊
It is very cheering. It’s like a daily colour therapy exercise 😊 I have deliberately left it with the next strand started so I will definitely pick it up tomorrow evening and do something with it, even if it is only to finish that strand 😊redofromstart said:I used to do picalilli with our gluts Watty, a River Cottage recipe I think. Nobody liked the posh bought stuff when we tried it.The tapestry looks very cheering KK.
The frame has been transformative. It’s so much easier to work, I’m getting far less fraying of the finished surface and it’s a lot easier to keep it under even tension. Setting it up is hard work - hand sewing it to the fabric on the frame, but once it’s done you soon forget that 😊 The ones that seem to be most commonly available are made in the UK as well, which is another feel good factor for it 😊~FlowerPot~ said:The tapestry is gorgeous, it will be so good when it's done!
Seeing your on a frame, I might have to investigate getting one!!
Thank you 😊
Too cute! She probably feels his pain and de-stressing himGlad you are enjoying your work and feel like it’s going well
The veg area looks great and good to have targets !Loving the tapestry and the Piccalilli sounds great!

I think a cushion would be lovely from the tapestry if you can keep Chloe off it!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It would be lovely as a wall hanging or over a window with the sun shining through the colours.3

Ooh, interesting idea … if I could get the edges tucked in enough it would look fabulous with a dark blue velvet backing …. 🤔😊WelshmansDaughter said:It would be lovely as a wall hanging or over a window with the sun shining through the colours.
